Any one know what is this for???
I realized this as I was checking my tire pressure. The driver side seem like it is missing something that needs to be plug in that socket. It is located behind the strut assembly on the body frame. On the other hand, the same socket on the passenger side had a wire plug in. I also check two other gle in the neighborhood and they don't even have the socket at all. Does that have to do with any package that I installed, if so what is it for? And most important of all, am I missing the wire on the driver side or is it design that way to only have it plug in on the passenger side. Look at the pics of both side:
Driver side, nothing plug in
Passenger side, a wire was plug in.
Any info would help, thanks

This is the sensor that tells the car the position of the suspension. It is important as it feeds many systems in the car, such as stability control. For cars with airmatic, you can even lower your car by altering the length of these pastic links. You should look for the wire, it's probably hanging behind the wheel. And replug it.

I would not re-plug it myself. It is under warranty and I would let the dealer fix it, and let them check the connector since it should not have come unplugged on it's own.

I checked there's no wire anywhere hanging. I don't have airmatic or anything. But the funny thing is I checked two other gle in the neighborhood and they don't even have the socket. Do you guys have it on your car??

I have a 2015 ML350 and it ONLY has it on the PASSENGER SIDE and is hooked up to a wire just like in your picture. On the drivers side there is nothing, no black piece or bracket. Mine does not have air suspension but does have the Premium 1 package. Has to be some option, I would guess. It will be interesting to find out what it is and why some have it and other don't.

brought the car to the dealer today, and apparently, a few GLE has it on 1 side only and the other side don't even have the connector socket. the service rep told me they probably installed the connector socket my accident. It has no use.
