First Service 2018 GLE, not
Trying to schedule very first service of 2018 GLE 4MATIC. Wife loves the car so much she put almost 10,00 miles on it in 6 months. Having hard getting a service appointment to closest dealer because we did not purchase vehicle there. Anyone else having this problem?
Is this Mercedes service after all these tears? Can only service vehicle where its purchased? |
I bought my GLE 350 at one dealer and have taken it to another for ALL the service.
I can't imagine why you are having any problem at all... |

No appointments today No appointments this week No Saturday appointments Next appointments in 3 weeks Dealers don't care where you purchased your car. They want your money so where you purchased your car is moot. |
i think i know what the OP is saying,......they might not want to touch another dealer's cars because if there is an issue sometimes the dealer has to eat the cost sometimes and if the customer get a service done and claims it should have been free....the dealer might not get paid......i would take it to the original dealer for all services, atleast until the warranty lapses

None of this makes since. Your paying for service and if you are refused service contact Mercedes.
|
You should be able to service the car in any Benz Dealership. If any, they make more money off service in the long run.

Where you buy a car has nothing to due with where it's service especially if under warranty or you are paying for it. I live in DC and purchased 3 AMG's from dealerships in other states.
E55 from Salisbury Maryland - 116 miles away E63 from Wilmington Delaware - 108 miles away GLE63 from Burlington Massachusetts - 442 miles away That's one hell of a drive to get an oil change LOL :D |
i think these were on point
"No appointments today No appointments this week No Saturday appointments Next appointments in 3 weeks" add maybe no loaner or loaner available. i don't know mb, but loaners for other makes around me are limited to dealer sold vehicles. i don't know how my dealer handles such situations, but it is now part of Ray Catena so i'll guess it's an all comers perk. one other thing, if the OP has a laundry list of dealer prep items that weren't dealt with to his satisfaction, i can see the service dealer push back to the selling dealer. they already got paid for prep. other than that, i'm with all the comments above. doesn't matter which dealer services. ron |

After all the difficulties to get a loaner and get an appointment, i paid extra for an express appt, get there and they go "do you want a loaner?". Service C was my first service, strange. Service C, tires rotated and balanced, dust filter and express upcharge of $100 comes to $717. Labor $165 per hour. Im not one to complain and somewhat expected this price point, but is this a planned thing to get you to upgrade to express service? Seems like ladies on phone booking appointments have a different outlook than the actual service writers. Service was great and complete in the 2 hours told for the express service upgrade. |
Wow! First service is $700+. That's more like a service B (every 20K or 2 yrs). I did my first service for $300 which is average in my area. I did my Service B with a winter coupon and it was around $550 after Tax. But that $700 for first service is very high. Can't imagine what your next one is going to be like.

Sounds like you need to find a new dealer. Where I service my vehicles has nothing at all to do with where they were bought. This is a brand new 2018 vehicle w/ only 10k miles on it right? Forget what the dealer says, what does your owners manual say needs to be done at 10k miles? That should've been the service A, oil and filter change, tire rotation, etc. And what exactly did the "express service upcharge" get you beyond a normal service? Quite a bit does not sound right here.

?
i've never seen "express service" at my dealer (not to say they don't have it). Express service with my subarus is basic oil change and multi point inspection without an appointment. no up charges and your out asap. i don't rotate tires, but my services weren't as much as yours. like above, something strange. is your location accurate? does the dealer get to charge super premiums because they're the only ones around? ron |
