What do I need to convert my halogen headlights to HID?
I have a 2017 GLE350 with halogen lights. I want to purchase a HID conversion kit, but I'm not sure where to purchase from, what is the best kit , and the exact items needed (CanBus or not).

This hybrid Hylux/Morimoto kit will work for your GLE. We worked closely with the G/M line forum members here to verify this will work without issues. It is a canbus kit which you will need.

This may seem like a noob question, but will this kit match the throw and pattern of the halogens, and will there be heat issues with the existing halogen lamp housing?

I am a newbie and I don't know much about changing headlights and I've never done it before and I don't want to mess it up. If I buy the Morimoto HID conversion kits from AZN Optics, can I take it to any shop to get them installed? Can I take it to the dealer to have them install it?

HID is WELL worth it, carve out a day unless you have a garage. AZN optics is pretty solid at getting people the right items, I'd go with him. I used the retrofit source before I knew AZN optics was around. Get the morimotos, they're solid, I think I have 5000k bulbs and they match the daylight running lights pretty well. A shop may install it for you but it's actually pretty easy, just need to know how to do it. The hardest part is bulb positioning but it looks just as good as my wifes audi HID (maybe a little less sharp on the top but I actually prefer the wider view). You will need to go and possibly reposition your headlights when you're done installing. Look at my post: https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...d-success.html lots of good info in there/trouble shooting. I've had mine for 3 years, no problems or issues, no errors. I've had the car serviced twice now, one in which they detailed the engine bay, no issues or comments came up. The only time it becomes an issue is if you end up with electrical or lighting problems, they can "claim" it's due to the lighting and therefor void the warranty but they can't claim the HID lights caused your transmission to die or the sort. You can just put the old bulbs back in before you go to the dealer. I purchased some extra wheel well cover caps from ebay to keep around, so I can put them back in place of the ones I had to cut (small hole for the wiring). @Technobeats @deerlake @ssgmillerl

Like the one I just got recently, all you need is this kit (Hylux ballasts with Morimoto bulbs) from AZN Optics. Good price, fast shipping, and nicely packaged!
