Recommendation with Tire

After 38K miles on the original Dunlop, I am finally at a point that I need to get a new set of tires for annual state inspection. debating between the new Pirelli Scoripion Verde All Season Plus 2 or the Bridgestone Alenza plus. I had Alenza on my old MDX in the past and they were great! Just wasn't sure with Benz since it is German engineering if the Pirelli is better for overall. Looking for another 45-50K mile out of the new set and most city driving with about 35% highway. Any recommendations? or experiences with Pirelli?

I see you are in NY, they have a new category of tire now known as Mountain or Snow flake rated. It is not the typical snow tire or a all season tire. This tire is a all year tire that meet the snow tire classification and still can be used all year. I think it would be good for an area that has a lot of snow and yet you do not have to change tires for the season.

I have a 2015 ML 350 and have Michelin Defender LTX and have been happy with the them. I have over 20,000 miles on them so far and the are wearing fine. I got a little over 40,000 on the original equipment tires.

I noticed on the New GLE 350 that they come with Cooper tires, which really surprised me. So it look like Mercedes is becoming less selective of their tire brands.

I have 36k on Conti CrossContact LX Sports, they need replaced in a few thousand miles. They are OK.

I will probably replace them with Conti CrossContact LX 25s because of longer treadwear rating.

Pirellis don't get good reviews on this site.

I purchased Goodyear weather ready assurance tires. Snowflake rated...
Top rated on tire rack. I am at 20,000 miles and they have tons of tread left. I calculated my wear versus tread depth and they should get to 60,000 miles.Great in winter and rain. Quiet. Handle well.

I only use Michelin and Continental. For my GLE I'm debating between the two. I always use only Michelin (Pilot Sport) when I had my CLK and the Continental (DWS 06) on my other vehicle (Subaru).

I just ordered Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ for my GLE but I'm wondering if I should have went with something else. I live in NYC and while we didn't have a bad winter this winter, next one could be bad and I'm not sure how they will perform in moderate to heavy snow, plus I like to go upstate in the mountains from time to time. I think I want the Michelin Crossclimate SUV tires instead, but costco doesn't have them in stock and neither does any local shop. I prefer costco because of the service, road hazard warranty, free rotation etc.. So I might give the Pilot Sport A/S 3+ a shot.

I can't answer that question because I never had the Pilot Sport on the GLE or any 4matic (AWD) vehicle's. On my CLK500 it was rear wheel drive and it did not help so I never drove the CLK when it snow.
