Chrome rims

Chroming was popular in USA in 1980's, where lot of dealers would take wheels off from new car and send them for chroming. MB never sold chromed wheels.
The issue become bad, since not too many US chrome shops learn the trade and the chrome was peeling off, not only cosmetically, but the tires would not hold the air.
I have classic monoblocks on my E, who were originally chromed by Lorinser. They are over 20 years old and when chrome still looks good, I have to add special compound for tire mount to avoid leaks.
