When I drive downhill at a certain spot, I hear extra noise maybe from the engine.
There is a slope about 20 miles away from my house, downhill, about 100 ft long, not that steep, I need to press the brake when I drive by there.
Last year, when I drove there, I slowed down and pressed the brake, then I heard loud noise seems came from the engine
After about 100 ft, it was gone. Since it happened suddenly, I was not sure where the noise came from. Later, I though it may came from a nearby pickup trunk or loud car or something.
Three days ago, I drove by the same spot, again, I heard loud noise seems from the engine. I pulled over, and the noise is gone.
This never happened at other downhill roads.
My question is: am I paranoid, or, the engine will do something under certain condition?

The noise is like a loud pickup truck besides you. But not that loud.
I have to hit the brake because the slope is kind of steep, and it is a curve.
