I think it's the material that the pads are using. That would be my guess. My second guess a seized caliper (still have not look at the passenger side to confirm it). I will know this Thursday since I have the 2 post lift reserved.

Can you shift or wiggle the caliper through the wheel, using a pry bar or stout screwdriver? Or take the wheel off and ensure the caliper moves freely on the slide pins.

Both inner and outer pads are the same wear. We think the brake hose collapse. Right now we have to exchange the caliper since this truck has the AMG caliper and we also order a new hose and now waiting on (1) rotor.

Update:
I replaced only the driver side rear caliper, rotor, pad, brake hose and cleaned up the brake dust front the hub and dust shield.

Confirm the brake hose collapse because when we try to put air through the brake hose it's being restricted. I'm going to keep monitoring it and if it happens again I be checking the electronic side.

My worst luck
The brakes is squalling again (very loud) sounds like the same wheel Time to reserve the lift again to inspect and another replacement (I have a spare set of rear pads/rotors).

Update:
We took so many measurement's and we concluded it was the aftermarket caliper that was installed had the wrong size carrier (mounting bracket). We even order (2) more aftermarket calipers (AMG and non AMG) they all had the same size carrier. I notice the pads had an overhang above the rotor.

We order the correct carrier bought OEM Mercedes out of state since Mercedes in my area only will only sell us a complete caliper.

The GLE is back on the road after being down for 4 days since we were waiting on the carrier to arrive.

Lesson learned check the parts first before installing them. It was the aftermarket manufacture, QA screwed up.
