FAST OIL CHANGE!

I tested the 2.3 gallon harbor freight fluid extractor pump on my 2017 AMG GLE43 and it worked! Sucked 7.4 quarts of oil in 6 minutes. I was surprised that not even a trickle of oil came out of the oil drain plug. This should also work on the M276 N/A engine on the 350s, and turbo 400s with and without 4matic.
Im just extremely happy that I no longer have to lift the Merc, remove the belly pan, and drain via oil plug. Its messy and time consuming. Buy yourself this $90 pump, save money from getting it done from a shop, and enjoy the extra hour or so you have on your day off. You're welcome!

I know its not rocket science but I didn't think it was going to work cause I tried it on my old 2010 GLK 350 4matic and it left 2 quarts of oil in the pan. I guess the newer Mercedes are designed for oil extraction from the dip stick.

Here's the link to the pump and some photos Oil Extractor Pump

Does your model have a drain plug washer that requires replacing if the drain plug is removed ?
If it is the case, and you can do an oil change without removing the drain plug, will OU still change the washer occasionally?

I believe they all have a crush washer for the oil drain plug. To be honest I never replaced it since I bought it 2 years ago. I drove it 30k miles and it never leaked. You don't have to change the crush washer if you don't remove the oil drain plug.

When you are using the extraction pump and you think all the oil has been siphoned out of the pan, move the tube around so you can feel the tip hit the bottom of the pan to suck ALL of the oil out. Think of it like a vacuum.

Also let your GLE cool over night then let it idle for 5 minutes in the morning. You don't want it at full oil temperature. You want it warm enough so it flows easily without it being piping/burning hot.

WIS calls for top extraction so you are just doing what technician are told for the M276.

That's great information and thanks for sharing. Not being snotty, but I prefer to do the oil changes using the oil pan drain. Taking the belly pan off lets me inspect for leaks, worn suspension bushings, and other things that might be wrong but are hidden from view by the belly pan. You can reuse the oil drain crush washer if you anneal it (hang it on a coat hanger or something similar, heat it to red hot with a propane torch and allow it to air cool) before reinstalling it.

Topside oil changes are the way on an MB. Been doing this for many hundreds of thousands of miles. After the first time I used the hand pump version, I purchased the unit that runs on a compressor. One thing to note, the air compressor version runs much better with the gold air suppressor thing removed. It will get clogged with vapor and it won't pump strongly enough.
