Here was my letter I received today.
I may contact these people, if only to cover myself on the long delay.
Who knows -- it might serve me well at delivery time.

I contacted him via email several times and always had a response from MBUSA customer assistance shortly thereafter. Not sure it did any good, but can’t hurt.

Free Driving through the dealer

So I took my car into the dealer this morning for the second try at the "failure to start" issue. Thought I'd have a little fun - stopped outside, put it into Offroad mode, then started Free Driving Assist and drove in with the car bouncing up and down. People were like, "What the...!" Tried to get a video but it wasn't successful.

Mercedes-Benz starts third quarter with double-digit growth

"In the NAFTA region, the Stuttgart-based company with the three-pointed star posted significant growth in unit sales in July: 29,241 cars delivered represent an increase of 17.5% compared with the prior-year month. The strong development of sales in July was primarily driven by the region’s core market, the United States, where 24,612 cars with the star were sold last month (+22.9%). In the first seven months of the year, sales by Mercedes-Benz in the United States totalled 172,008 vehicles (-3.8%), a significant improvement of sales development compared with the previous month June.

In the SUV segment, improved vehicle availability had a positive impact last month: sales of approximately 61,000 units of the GLA, GLC, GLC Coupé, GLE, GLE Coupé, GLS and G-Class were just 1.2% below the prior-year level. Sales of the G-Class in the first seven months of the year are already on the way to setting a new record in 2019: more than 20,000 units were sold worldwide from January to July (+78.7%)." --Daimler press release 8.7.2019

So Mercedes is doing well and those of us who have stuck around waiting for cars still don’t have one just end up at the bottom of the heap

Yup it’s all about the $$$$ and their bottom line. So much for customer service.

Still waiting after 8 months. Sometime I wonder why MB would treat their customer this way. I guess they have the right to refuse selling a car.

And on top of that MB continues to launch the GLE in other countries: now Philippines (https://www.topgear.com.ph/news/car-...-a962-20190807)

That sounds crazy!

And India in October...

Well, I am not in one of those countries specifically, but MB customers here are also waiting for their GLE's, and the country hasn't even received one. We are due to supposedly receive a first batch of just 20 builds in a few months, for the entire country. So I am sure MB has a lot of pressure from dealers around the world to get their allocations.

Does anyone have the list of dealer option codes (i.e., DA0 - MBUX Technology Pkg) available? I've seen it posted or linked here before, I think, but I can't find it. I was just looking at the image my SA sent me of my order on NetStar and I don't think one of my options is listed. Thanks in advance.

New Range Rover Sport panned

Car & Driver 9.5.19: 2019 Range Rover Sport's New High-Tech Inline-Six Struggles to Impress

So the new RRS sounds a lot like the GLE 450 & GLE 53 - Mild hybrid 3.0L inline six, turbo & superchargers, 48V electrical. HSE model 355 hp/365 lb ft; HST model 395 hp/406 lb ft - both of these less than the comparable GLEs. And even the high-horsepower version is half a second slower to 60 than the GLE 450. Li-Ion battery is smaller, too, at 0.2 kw vs GLE's 0.9. Fuel economy is rated at 21/19/25 mpg, but they only got 16 during testing. HST's base price is $84,245.

"Everything about the new powerplant had us hoping it would provide the performance that has been sorely missing from the entry-level Sport model. On paper it should have; in reality, it doesn't."
"But the proof is in the driving, and that experience is less than inspiring."
"But any hope for around-town peppiness evaporates with the first push of the throttle. Every driver who sampled the HST returned with the same indictment: Off the line, it feels drugged. Then, at about 3000 rpm, a gush of unwanted power suddenly arrives, forcing you to backpedal the throttle abruptly lest the beast run away. This is not the swift, seamless driving experience the Range Rover Sport deserves."

Now, I realize the GLE has not gotten great reviews so far for handling, but at least the engine has.

With Air Suspension-my take is that Comfort is too soft and Sport should be firmer too. If they could make Comfort halfway between Comfort and Sport and then firm Sport that much firmer it would be perfect and would improve handling without sacrificing comfort. In C Mode the rebound damping is weak making it floaty. Going over a speed bump or big roller mine will bottom. I run I Mode most of the time with everything but suspension C and Suspension S.
The future appears to be E-ABC and if the cost came down 50% it would be a no brainer.

A current advantage of E-ABC is it has Sport+ mode which really buttons the suspension down. I think the Active Ride coming in the GLE 53 may be the best compromise; in theory it should give excellent roll control and overall handling (without the Curve mode & Road Surface Scan that are really unnecessary).

Acoustic Package

Anybody else ordered the Acoustic Comfort package? I received my GLE450 a few days ago and don't see the "Acoustic" designation on any of the glass. (also there seems to be more heat coming thru the windshield than I remember from my 2015 GLK).

I don’t have acoustic package but there is no acoustic glass note anywhere as well. My GLC had it on the windshield and there was no such package available.

I also hear quite a bit of wind noise coming from the mirror or door it seems. My wife says she hears it too although I haven’t sat on passenger side yet. Did anyone else notice that? I am wondering if the car is too quiet and you start to hear all this noise.
