Anybody have insight as to official announcement date and timing of first deliveries?

No one outside Mercedes knows at this point. Best guess is in about a year +/-.

Considering the fact that MB can't get the GLE production straight for half a year now I wouldn't hold my breath for any new releases to be properly timed in the near future.
