AMG GLE43 Coupé MY17 - lighting system
Hi @all,
Currently thinking about ordering MY17 AMG GLE43 Coupé. However, I have a question concerning lighting system. Does standard headlight Active LED feature "Matrix function" (turning off parts within headlight to not dazzle traffic) as in Europe? I read some articles saying that this function might not available for North American markets offering only traditional highbeam assist function.
Thx in advance. :-)

Pioneered by Mercedes-Benz, dynamic LED headlamps generate light that's even closer to natural daylight than the standard Bi-Xenon headlamps. Active Curve Illumination and Adaptive Highbeam Assist continuously vary the beam pattern of the multiple LEDs in each headlamp to help maximize the illumination of corners and straightaways, without creating glare for other drivers. The horizontal taillamps feature a "twin torch" design and LED turn signals and brake lamps.
While they don't actually use the term "Matrix", I believe this is exactly what you're referring to. Please post the links you read about this feature possibly NOT being included on U.S. vehicles.

These articles indicate that it is due to an old law. I currently spoke to a friend who is working for MB and he confirmed that the law is still valid and therefore the full function is not available.
