GLE 63s AMG Coupe Interior trim

Hi all

I have a 2016 GLE 63s Coupe and the interior option is Black Piano Lacquer trim for doors and dash. It collects dust like crazy and it has a lot of scratches. Is it possible to replace it with another trim like Brown Ash Wood? the catch is the new trim is for 2018 version and mine is 2016 version. There is a noticeable difference in the brightness of the Ambient light between the 2016 version and 2017 to 2019 versions which I personally witnessed between my 2017 gle 43(Really high brightness) and the 2016 gle 63s(Really low brightness) both coupes. Could this difference mean a different kind of sockets for ambient lights that comes fitted with the trim piece and won't fit mine? or a different placement of clamping clips? please help only if you are 100% sure because the trim is about 1700USD.

Best Regards
David

Brightness should be adjustable in settings....check this guy out for possible used trim packages... https://www.instagram.com/sgr_automotive/?hl=en

Hi

even if both models at 5 brightness also the 2017 is way brighter. Anyway my question is about the fit of a 2018 trim on a 2016 model. will it fit???

thanks

I wouldn't bother replacing the trim. Find a good detailing place and they should be able to get rid of all the scratches for you easily. There's really not much you can do about the dust though. If you still do decide to pursue the change in trim, in theory, it should fit. All the trim places/pieces haven't changed. You'll probably get new LED lights on the inside and they'll just be rewired. Ask your dealer, they'll have the most readily available info.
