AMG 53 OPTIONS
Hello
Anyone have opinions on the following options for the 2024 AMG GLE whether to get or not:
-Black Obsidian paint vs Black Paint
-Exclusive seats and dash
-Drivers Assistance Package
-Pinnacle Package
-Dashcam
-Running Boards
-Red interior vs Black

I don't like running boards because I think they're impractical.
Visually, though I think they help the lines, unless you get the Night Package, where I think they look misplaced.
Obsidian Black.
Interesting story - in the couple weekends before we placed our order, we were waffling on colors.
We roamed a couple dealer lots, and one had just received a couple truck loads of pretty dirty cars.
One color that stood out for not looking too nasty when dirty, was Obsidian Black.
That, combined with the chameleon look of Obsidian in different lights, helped our decision.
The Configurator pictures were actually a pretty good representation, as you spin it around and look at day and night renditions.
I'd want to see an actual Red Leather in an actual car this year, because there have been some complaints about MB reds.
It could either be stunning or look cheap.
Definitely yes on the driver's assistance, and add head up.

I have the 2024 53 in obsidian black with exclusive nappa red/black leather and it’s gorgeous. Not orange and looks premium.
Have running boards and night package with 22” wheels. Running boards useful in getting in but too low for exiting.

Yes, I have and recommend the drivers assistance package. Also have pinnacle package and dashcam.
I think drivers assistance package will be good for resale as well.

2023 GLE63S - Edition 55
I have a 2023 GLE63S in Obsidian Black with the Red/Black exclusive nappa leather interior. I was initially planning on ordering a 2024 GLE53 and did a ton of research on the difference between exclusive nappa and regular nappa. My dealer also contacted a contact at the factory and we both confirmed the actual leather is identical on the seats, middle console area and armrests. The difference is that you get the leather dashboard and door panels with the exclusive package. I had decided to just get the regular nappa if I ordered my car but I got a sweet deal on the 63 and it has the exclusive leather standard. The leather dashboard is nice but not worth the premium in my opinion as the components you sit on and touch regularly are the same with the regular nappa option. The red/black does look amazing, I think they corrected the orange issue a while ago. I love the red stitching on the dash also, probably my favourite part.
My last two vehicles were Obsidian Black, it's an awesome colour, has a very high end luxury look to it. The Driver's Assistance Package is a must, it has greatly improved over my 2020 GLE450 which I found very jerky and unrefined. Personally I'm not a fan of running boards, they really don't serve much of a function and make it harder to get in and out of the car as you have to step over them. They are obviously very popular as I see many of the cars on dealer's lots have them.

I sprung for the red leather in my GLE 53 coupe that is currently on order, but the factory removed the red interior and stuck me with all black. Be careful if you order one in 2023 because I was told they aren’t doing red for the remainder of 2023 due to supply issues.
I recommend the drivers assistance package because I heard it helps keep the resale value higher and it works pretty well.
