The great thing about a new car is you get to add some small things to enhance an already awesome interior. I had the stainless window control inserts on my 450 and ordered them again since I believe the add a nice upscale touch. The AMG projector lights are also a cool addition, I saw it posted in another thread and it was an easy add. Super easy install, simply pop out the old and pop in the new.
Great addition. I wanted to make a change in the same vein but I already have the MB star circular logos under the GLE53 side mirrors. Not wanting to have 2 circular light logos on the ground each time I open a front door, nor take my mirrors apart to make any changes there, I added the AMG pattern projectors to the front door lamp area. I like the pulsing animation once the whole logo makes its appearance. It kind of wipes in from the side / unfolds. Then the AMG bars wipe off/on for a while. I think it runs for 600 seconds max, then shuts off.
That looks pretty cool ! Funny thing you mentioned not wanting two circles, I feel the same way. When I ordered these AMG projectors, somehow I thought they would replace the regular Mercedes star logo not realizing the star is projected from the mirrors. I'm thinking my current ones are going on eBay and I'll be getting your solution. I'm sure the animation is also a nice bonus.

My parts desk at the dealer had to order them from Germany. US warehouses had none. It took 3 weeks, and they are very proud of these little lights, ie not cheap. I just did the front doors.

Yes, I've ordered them form Mercteil, found them after posting this message. Looking forward to getting them, it's a good thing the installation is so easy as I've gotta do it again!
