"MUST HAVE" Accessories

What accessories do you guys/gals already have or WANT for your new GLK?

First I am looking at the All-Weather Floor Liners. I would love to be able to keep the carpet under the liners pristine. Anyone used these yet? I can't find any direct links to them on any site (would be useful for sending the link to family for christmas gift ideas). If not, does anyone know what the code is so if I sent them to the dealership they would get the correct item. (I want the "liners" which are $147 on the mbusa configurator, not the "mats").

Roof racks may be in the future at some point, but they seem a little pricy, do any third party ones fit the rails as well and possibly cheaper?

Are any of the roof cargo containers worth the price for trips? Never used anything like that on any of my prior vehicles. I think the trunk space should be enough anyway.

"Cargo Area Container" seems nice for the trunk for the same reason as the all weather liners for the footwells.

Bought the weather tech full set along with cargo liner. Never been happier. Easy to clean and they fit perfect. They are more expensive then others but they look and fit better.

Is weathertech the same maker as the OEM ones? If not, do they have a weathertech logo or a Mercedes Benz logo on them? Probably not a deal breaker either way, but curious.

Must have accessories

Since I bought my first Benz I always get the dealer to throw those in after I negotiate a buying price. They are great and a must have especially if you live where there's snow.

the basics..

While I am still waiting for to p/u my GLK...

I have bought the following (all OE) : all-season mats, rear cargo liner, collapsible storage crate.

Not necessarily Must Have: OE Aero kit, illuminated door sills, remote start, video in motion, LED DRL, AMG pedals (brake & e-brake...waiting for pedal and footrest part# and availability), & rear chrome trim strip.

Hmm I've been looking around for a nice rear cargo liner. Really liked the ones that MadLorGLK had but the pics had been deleted. Any clues which one was it? It looked like an anti-slip type with a lot of squares on it.

Isn't the storage crate a standard accessory?

Where did you get the rear chrome trim strip?
That plain rear end is crying out for this people.
Anything to do away with the Toyota Highlander look.........

update

...update...
Tate, the storage crate is not standard that fits in with cargo liner that I purchased. The dealer showed me how this works, and it's a great addition when making trips to Costco. The crate is collapsible and it is out of the way.
RedRover, the rear trim is available, chk with your dealer. Here's the p/n# A204-740-0222

I bought WeatherTech and it's well worth the money. It was the first thing we ordered. We got our first snow of the year here and did not have a second thought of stepping in the GLK with our snow on our feet.

I was chatting with one of the distributors a few weeks ago and he confirmed that Yes - weather tech makes the MB floor mats. If you buy weather tech, it does not come with the MB logo... but it's essentially the same mat and quality, just less $$. i got the all-seasons for front and back.

-----

i'm getting the roof rack for the winter season (skiing/snowboarding)... will be calling the dealer next week. does anyone know the price?

The Chrome piece? It's part of the "Chrome Package" from MB here in the US.
Also it is part of the MB add on accessory catalog for the GLK.
However Dealerfit doesn't show it as being available....
There is a poor pix of it on the CA site
http://www.mercedes-benz.ca/site/mb_...es_eBro_en.pdf

Down a few pages to "Character Plus".

here you go

the list on this piece is 194 and the best I was able to get was about 179 (no tax). Dealerfit did have it at 159.34? (could not find it anymore)
In Canada they list for 230 and best price of 192 CAD.
Hope this helps.
If you want to order, I could refer to my dealer contact in U.S.

mr mbenz, when you say best price in Canada, do you mean you negotiated it from MSRP with dealer?

Also be aware dealerfit has shipping fee too.

not negotiated...just given : )

yualfred,

I have a few contacts where I gave them a list of accessories I was interested and they gave me the prices.
However, these contacts are associated with another contact.
You know that contact to contact thing. It's not about how much $$$ you have
Sorry if I worded it differently otherwise.
