OEM wipers done after 8 months?
Rain-X also causes premature failure of rubber items, like wiper blades.
I was reading their site and it appears rainx is just a layer of silicon over glass, so silicon in contact with the wiper blades erodes them? I was looking at some vids for rainx in action as well, and it looks like the rain drops just fly upwards and off the windshield at higher speeds.
Thanks MBRedux, I will also try your instructions on removing rainx.

All I see is chattering from rainx being on the wiper blades. My friend has it on his VW and he hasn't had any problems, and rainx isn't permanent you need to reapply.
This page says it improves blade longevity:

I'm just trying to do some research and get some evidence so if rainx silicon spray is a bad product I can tell relatives and close friends to avoid it.

By the way, I have never heard of RainX causing problems with rubber products, nor could I find anything regarding this statement online.

I've seen many who have no problems, many who experience the skipping of wiper blade contact, but I have never seen anything about rain x being permanent and causes premature erosion of wiper blades. That's all I was wondering.
