My cadillac has a side radar that is very helpful. It turns a yellow warning light on in the drivers outside Rear Mirror when something is there in your blind spot. Wasn't that expensive either...maybe $600. I have grown dependent on it.

1) tilt mirrors in revers like in Canadian and Euro modesl
2) Tunnel mode, when you hit and hold inside ventilation button - all windows/sunroof close at once - available on Euro models. Don't care as much as all windows and sunrood have auto up/down feature.
3) Sunroof closes when it rains automatically - available on Euro model
4) 18 inch standard rims with good tires.
5) LED DRL like on AMG pakcage and LED brake lights
6) Sunglass holder
7) Bigger tank
8) 255 wide tires on 20 inch tires
9) True manual mode
All small things, love the car otherwise

haha MB has been always behind on tech stuff unless you are talking about S-Class. The reason I bought GLK is because they have old technology so hopefully it's reliable. I'm surprized with their new Navi, I expected worse.

awesome nycglk..
that's my pet peeve regarding the sunroof.. if they could make rain sensing wipers.. why not on the sunroof.. can't be that much to add another sensor..
also.. on the sunglass holder.. everyone seems to have one already.. rather odd to have left it out.. perhaps on the 2011 model year..
i can handle the small tank as i fill up every week anyway.. but of course.. always welcome to have a bigger tank..
bring on the blutech MB.. euro already has it.. why not US/CAN
thanks..

I second the heated steering wheel.
I had a first gen BMW X3 that had the heated steering wheel that came with the cold weather package. It was really nice in the cold winter months.

- heated steering wheel and rear heated seats
- air conditioned front seats
- reclining back row seats (at least a little bit - like on the Q5)
- rain sensor on the rear window. right now it only has an on position
- volume adjustment with COMMAND controller

-Heated steering wheel and heated rear seats would be a nice option.
-The around view camera system that Volvo and Infinity have would be a very cool thing to add as well.
-The biggest thing I would add is a larger gas tank.

I agree there is a real need for a sunglass holder, larger gas tank, rear window and sunroof rain sensor.
I would add to the list:
A light in the cargo compartment, which was not covered up by the cargo.
Have the seat move like steering wheel (easy-entry/exit) , to assist on egress.

its funny how every single suggestion is pretty much available on an alternative vehicle. It's like MB deliberately left things out. Every car i had since 2003 had a sun glasses holder cept the GLK. I remember my infiniti I35 had heated steering wheel and heated rear seats (but my subsequent G didn't have it).
I wish the rear hatch window can open seperately like it did on my first car (a 97 CRV)...

prolly competition and pricing preassue makes newer models have all new bells that people talk about and forgo small things for cost savings. What's next? you have to roll down windows yourself?

This one would be handy, but I am afraid that it might require too much reworking to implement.
Both the Audi Q5 and the Volkswagen Tiguan, have a REAR seat that slides back and forth 5 or 6 inches.
So you can bias the car for people or cargo depending upon the situation.
And after all, the letter U in SUV/CUV stands for Utility.
We could use a few more inches of rear leg/foot room on some occasions.
BTW, this is standard on the VW. I can't remember if it was standard on the Q5 or not.
Too many test drives, too many features to remember them now....

Here's my list:
1. Make the rear seats slide back so if more leg room is need, no problem.
2. Add a hard protective trim in the same color on the doors so you don't have to worry about other drivers banging their doors against yours.
3. Have a light and/or sound sensor on the side mirrors to warn you if there is a car or something in your blind spot

It would be nice if the memory seats and mirrors and steering wheel would actually be tied linked to the key being used and automatically adjust when the key was used to unlock the doors.
Pushing the numbered button is a pain.
My BMW had this and it was real convenient.

Good stuff all..... I do wish the rear camera was in the rear v. mirror (40% of it on the right) and not on the Navi screen....( less time to shift eyes and faster judgement )
The rear seat backs should be able to recline at least 10-15 degrees for long trips.
A sport steering wheel or wood depending on the type of interior you have
Better steering feel and feedback to the driver. Improve self centering geometry.
Better body fitment especially hood to front bumper/grille gap. (Look how MB photoshops their pix of the car vs. the real thing!)
Front door windows that should go all the way down.
A full size spare tyre.
I could go on and on....
Anyways.... we still love our baby Benz!

What did it do when both key were in the car... did it get confused or something?
