Green headlamp symbol in cluster

Canadian model. My Green headlamp symbol in cluster stays on when it is bright and sunny, even when I turn the head light switch to off. I thought the Green head lamp symbol means my head lights are on.

My SA told me (Canadian models) the Green symbol means the DRLs are on and it should always be on. I told him the green headlamp symbol comes and goes unless my headlamp are on. I think he is lying to me.

Does anyone know more about the Green headlamp symbol in cluster ?
Please let me know the truth.

I think my Green headlamp symbol only comes on when the light are on but then again, the 2011s use LED DRL instead so the headlight isnt exactly on until it needs to be

2010 canadian model means DRLs always on, DRL are headlights.... so your dealer seems to be right.

Sometimes when the headlight switch is on "A", the green symbol is on.
I turn the switch to "off" the green symbol turns off after about 20 seconds.
The green symbol does not stay on all the time, unless my headlights are on.

In "A" position the Low-beam headlamps switches automatically depending on the ambient light, and thus turning the green symbol on or off.

With regard to how Low-beam headlamps and (Canadian) Daytime Running Lamp mode works, note the GLK Operator's manual, chapter "Lightning", starting on page 87: http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...l/2010_glk.pdf.

My green light is not on when my light switch in on A and it's bright out. Only comes on when all the lights either come up automatically or I turn this on via the switch.

That is my exact problem. When my light switch is on A and it is bright out, my green symbol comes on. I then turn my light switch to off, the green symbol stays on most of the time. I have to do some more research on this. Thanks.

Why don't you just leave it to Automatic and not worry about it? I've had the car over a year now and the light switch has never been in any mode but A and I've had no problems. If anything it's so much easier having everything automated; just hop in and drive away.

I do leave it on "A" all the time. During the summer, when it is super sunny and hot, I noticed the green lamp come on. I thought it was strange because why would the headlights turn on when it is bright outside.

I turn the headlight switch to "off " but the green lamp stayed on. Does that mean " off " also means automated ? But sunny = headlights on

I tihnk in Canada we need to have our lights on at all times so that is why you are seeing the icon on at all times. Even when it's like 1pm middle of July no clouds in the sky your DRL are still on.

I totally agree with you if my green headlight icon stay on at all times.
But the green light does not stay on all the time during sunny days......
It comes and goes.......thats the mystery I can't figure out.
Its not a big deal, just weird.
