SLK 350 2013
Thumbs up Happy Commuter

My daily commute is 119 km along the St-Maurice river here in central Québec. I always seem to avergae 6.4 l/100km (36.7 miles/Us Gal) but I have to do a lot of passing, logging trucks and motor homes.

Very pleased.

On the Québec City run, which is all freeway, we got 4.9 l/100 km or 48 miles/US Gal.

Oh, ... and diesel is 3-5 ¢ less per liter here than regular

Happy motoring to you all.

'02 VW Golf TDI, '13 GLK 250
We now have a little over 3000 kms on our 250 and are quite pleased with it. We've only had it on one road trip which was approx. 700 kms and about 90% highway driving. We came out at 6.1 l/100 kms on that trip.

This last tank, my wife put on a little over 700 kms with approx. 90% of that being within the city of Calgary doing her store visits with her district managers. She still had approx. 180 kms of range left before filling it up. She averaged 7 l/100 kms which I think is absolutely amazing for city driving

Our old '10 CR-V would rarely make 8.5 l/100 kms on the highway and naturally wasn't nearly the finely tuned machine the GLK is. Sure makes it even more enjoyable when you consider that diesel in Alberta is 5-10% cheaper than regular unleaded.

So far, so good. If the service end of the deal lives up to our expectations, MB might have a couple of new customers for life. Now, if they would just put this Blutec motor in the C300/350, I'd finally be able to retire my old '02 Golf TDI.

I think this is actually planned (for the US, anyway) for 2014. I would expect that Canada would be just as likely to see this as well. It could be a late add, maybe early 2014.

Did Montreal to Toronto and averaged 5.9L/100km at 116kph, much better than 12.5L/100km I was getting with my 2010 GLK350.

I'm a 1st time Canadian snow-bird, heading to FL in a few days. Can someone confirm whether a US GLK-250 BT can have its speedo etc, flipped to kms/metric or is a full cluster needed to make it importable to Canada ??

Thanks..I'm assuming that's for the digital readout in the center of the speedo ?? Will RIV accept that as a speedo or does the old one have to come out ??

Thanks

When I took ED of my GLK250 in Germany the digital readout was switched to kmh, back in US I've switched the digital readout to mph.

First top up driving in the mountains and we got 40.3 mpg (imp gal) not sure if that's the best it would have done it was -15 to -20 c and a lot of ice and it handled all that very well....

We managed 8.4 l / 100 km on our first tank, mostly all city driving, with a mix of aggressive driving as I believe in an aggressive break-in. It was also very cold here in Calgary for part of the first week so that probably didn't help economy either.

First highway trip is tomorrow so will be interesting to see how it does from Calgary to Edmonton and back.

While I've not tried it on the MB, when I switched it in my Corvette the speedometer
needle and digital readouts all changed to kilometers. I suspect this will hold true for
the MB too. Why make two different units, (costly), why have the analog scale go to
160 ? This brings another question to mind. How fast will a Blutec go? Anyone
going to the salt flats in the near future?

well went through another tank (well 3/4 tank) did 778 km on 51.5 litres for a grand total of 6.5 l/100km (43.19 mp(imp)g or 35.97 mp(US)g. This was on a reasonably level hwy at approx 110 kph or so weather was between 5 and -8C...

I wonder how it would be if we took our time and tried for more mpg...

The digital readout said the L/100 km was 6.3 but the actual was closer to 6.6

I took the Delivery First week of November for 2014 GLK 250 BT. Filled out for the first time at 575 Kilometers on the Odometer when Low fuel Light came up.Filled up 55 litres. So the calculations comes to about 10 KMs Per Litre in all city driving. I am not sure if its too early to detremine but I was expecting more although the overall ride is simply Terrific !!!

Did a trip from Calgary to Edmonton and back. 130 km/h on the highway + about 250 km of in-city driving in both cities. Averaged 7.6 l/100 km.

I imagine if we actually went the speed limit and were highway only, it would be laughably easy to do about 5.5 l/ 100 km.

I believe it's electronically limited to 210 km/h but I would imagine based on gearing and power that it could probably hit about 245. Fastest I've ever been is around 270 and I don't think this would be my first choice of vehicle to do anything close to that speed in - although I had a ford focus diesel rental car up to 200 on the autobahn and even that was fine.

I am also Located in Calgary & just driving in city. The Cold Weather might be the reason as well for low milage. I will track it for next few tanks & hopefuly it will improve but still a big difference from my Escalade.

The metric calculations don't compute for me.

I've been averaging real close to 31mpg around home, which is for trips ranging from 2 miles (to my mailbox) to 35 miles on mountain roads, to town and other nearby locations.

I just ran 600 miles, predominantly freeways running about 80mph, and with maybe 5% city driving. My trip average was 35.1mpg measured from the pump and the mileage on the dash. My gauge in the car had me @ 38mpg. This is about the same as I got on the E350 BlueTec. I'll be curious to see what I get on much more extended trip. I'm very pleased.
