Damaged / stripped thread on wheel hub

Hi there,
I just need some help in fixing my stripped thread on my front wheel hub. Is there any way of repairing the thread. When i try to put in the a good lug its tight and the lug wont go into the hole. Any help is appreciated.

There are various ways to repair, the oldest and surest being the Helicoil. You can buy a kit and DIY, or you can have a competent mechanic do it. They drill and retap and then insert the helicoil. Not sure of the amount of torque it will withstand but that would be a concern.

If it was me I think I'd just replace the hub. Can't think of too much worse than losing a wheel at a critical time.

First try to chase the thread with the correct thread chaser. This looks like a thread tap but it is not as it has cuts perpendicular to the rotation of the threads. Use this with light weight oil to clear the bind. I have a set from Sears which has standard & metric sizes. This kit has bailed me out many times. If not then it is time for a new hub.
