need new engine in 2010 GLK
due to a screw up at the dealer when my vehicle was in for regular service i need to put a new engine in the GLK, the dealer has agreed to pay for this so thats no the issue, my questions are
1) with 80km on the transmission etc is there any concern with putting a new engine in
2) will this affect my resale value
thanks

Same here. I don't think you need to worry about anything just do the same break-in routine you did when you first drove out your GLK off the lot.

2010 glk
Dealer pinched the oil filter seal on mine but I always check out their work when I get home.Found oil all over the lower half of engine and dripping on garage floor,I was only down 2 pints, thankfully.Called dealer who said don't start it and sent a flat bed to pick it up.They admitted the mistake and apologized, cleaned the engine ,new oil and filter.Called Mercedes Canada to have a record on file just incase

New engine means fewer miles, always a good thing when selling a car...

I think worrying about the transmission would be a bit much. If he's offering to put in a new engine I would thank my lucky stars and go buy some lottery tickets.
Maybe you can tell me the dealer and mechanic and I could get him to f up my filter and then get in line for that (right before they have a public hanging of the mechanic).
I think if it was down 2 pints the engine is probably just fine. Chalk up as a near death experience. Make a little mark somewhere on the engine you can check later to make sure the engine was really swapped out. The dealers I've known would steam clean the engine and pronounce it good - and hope they never see you again. I would carve my initials on the lower block or some other inobvious place. That's of course a story for another day. It's a big write-off or insurance claim they might try and weasel out of....

Two pints is a quart, and a quart low is no cause for alarm...
