GLK250 vs 350 handling

I have a GLK250 that I purchased used and a GLK 350 that I purchased new. Both are 2014s and about the same mileage. The GLK 350 feels very solid on the highway and around town even if you hit a bump. The GLK 250 feels like it skips all over the road with the slightest bumps on the road.

Is this just the difference between Run-Flats and good Pirelli tires?

Any thoughts would be appreciated..

Thanks,
Ed

Tires do make a huge difference based on what I saw on my friends CLA before and after her run flats...I really doubt the suspension components will be any different especially between the same module years. Are both of your vehicles 4MATIC? I can't remember if the 250 is even offered without 4MATIC actually. The 350 is probably a little heavier, but not by much as well.

Rim options might have a ave a little to do with it as well as tire size

The tire size is the same and they are both 4-Matic... I may switch to a can of fix-o-flat and some better tires if it turns out they are the issue...

Posted a reply earlier and it 'disappeared'.

I was fortunate in that when I bought mine there was an assembly error and I received regular tires (likely a Canadian model,) unknown to me at the time. My dealer had agreed to swap the run-flats if I didn't like them. Drove the car all over Europe and found no fault with what I believed were the run-flats, so I kept the tires. Hit a rock slide in the dark in Yellowstone Park, blew a tire and found the 'mistake'. M-B USA later gave me an inflatable spare because of the error. I've never had any 'skipping' or other complaint about the ride nor tire bounce. I believe your problem is totally tires.

What brand and model run flats, and Pirelli? tires are likely the reason unless the previous owner wore out front end components. Tire Rack has good tire comparisons.
