2012 GLK 350 Drive train vibration

Everything works just fine except, when turning slowly in a tight corner, where the steering in pulled to the end of the rack, an audible vibration starts and is felt in the steering. It does not occur at a stop, as in you can turn the steering wheel through its complete cycle and no binding, so I do not believe it is in the steering. I'm thinking half shaft binding, but I thought I'd ask if anyone has an insight as to what might be causing this. It also happens when the car is in motion

Mine does the same thing, I recently flushed the power steering twice over and it still does this but not as bad.

the truck is full time 4wd, i think this may just be the nature of awd, try not to jam things up by cranking the wheel so hard over going so slow.

Sounds like normal transfer case/diff operation, but you can always have a shop check it out and make sure there's no damage or leaks in the system.

When you are full-lock turned, there is a very large speed difference in the front tires, and this causes the front differential to react. Sometimes it's not smooth but still working as designed, other times there's a problem. Have to have someone who knows the difference check it out to be sure.

If there's no other noises or operation issues, i'd say you're probably fine just based on your description of the issue.

OP, also should be noted to avoid holding the steering wheel against its full stop. the vibrations you feel, if not related to awd binding a little, could be related to the pump begging for mercy as the rack is pushed against its limit. if it goes away as you let off the wheel slightly and allow movement in the drive train i think this would indicate its normal.

Is it worst when you have it in reverse and then turn the steering wheel slowly left or right?

I reported it to the dealer who replaced all my engine mounts and it went away... but it came back 9 month later
