That emblem is beautiful

So here are the door pins i did a few weeks ago. You need two different lengths. I went with aftermarket, but the factory part numbers with AMG are: 000-766-03-28 (REAR) and 000-766-02-28 (FRONT)
https://image.ibb.co/jeBqRk/door_pins.jpg Aftermarket Chinese Sport pedal. Extremely great replicas; well worth the low cost. I did the proper installation by taking apart the accelerator. The aftermarket ones you can do either way. factory pedals need to take apart. Full set is: 000-290-01-00 https://image.ibb.co/gaXKK5/sportpedals.jpg |
More wheel caps, perfect fitment.

I like the steering wheel swap.
Looks really nice. |
Very nice.
How do you plan to retrofit the memory seat control on the passenger side? I am guessing you need either re-coding, or a front SAM module from a wreck car that had passenger memory. Also wiring harness? New door module? I put leather door panels on my W204 C300 - I got them from a wrecked C which had memory seats - did not try to fit the memory option on my car because I know its more than just plug and play. |
After i get my car repainted, wrapped, and add on Brembo brakes; the last thing is to trying to add in AMG recaro seats.
At that time I would have the opportunity to tear apart the interior and figure out all the wiring. I heard it is adding the control module and plug in play, but no clue as no1 has ever added it in a glk350. |
Good morning, looks good, where you get your steering wheel from or part number?

No problem! just make sure you verify again with your source that the steering wheel is correct. Its pretty common to get the wrong steering wheel sent because the part numbers are super long and parts are very similar. Don't forget you need the different air bag, the ones that comes with the GLK originally wont fit on the sport style.

Hmmm let me think. It was a headache to do the conversion. Here is the toollist I used:
Extended long Tire valve stem tool 10mm bit socket Electrical insulator 10 hex socket 3/8" XL 3/8" ratchet 3/8" torque wrench Torx 20 long bit Curved pick tool Long needle nose pliers Thats about it. You need the torx 20 and curved pick tool exclusively for the lane keep assist conversion. The 10mm and insulator for the battery disconnect. You gotta go slow to remove everything down to the bare frame basically. |

Can you please help me with a link to that black emblem I looked up the part number on mbparts the one you provided, the image isn't on it when you buy it so can you provide me with the straight link to buy this thank you!

Hi, received your private message.
https://www.mbpartsfactory.com/oem-p...ign-0008171601 This is Mercedes Benz of Long Beach, California. Jon@mbpartsfactory.com is the a member here who convinved me to order through them. The best price I've found; although if you only purchase the one item the shipping will be around $11USD. I combined several items like air filters, the passenger memory seat controller and misc stuff. You can order this part at your nearest dealer and only pay tax. |

231-460-28-03-9E38 is the Black Ash, flat bottom, lane assist, with mercedes benz badge on spoke. This one will plug and play if you fancy a flat bottom. http://s04.radikal.ru/i177/1506/45/eb6850143c78.jpg http://s017.radikal.ru/i423/1506/36/d70927e50fea.jpg |

Are the options you posted the non-Takata make? I don't want to wait on the recall and would not mind coming out of pocket for something safer + nicer like the ones posted here. |
Not too long ago I bought a 3/4" drive torque wrench and 1 1/4" (32mm) twelve point socket to prepare for the front and rear bearing maintenance. Still need to get a 3/4" extension and some more parts.:naughty:

So if anyone ever has a lane keep assist failure from the steering wheel, the replacement vibration motor is 218-906-28-00. All steering wheels have the space for the vibration motor, but not all steering wheels have it installed. If you do install it you need to add an extra wire to connects to the circuit board.

Switching some of the clocks.
https://image.ibb.co/ejfQTk/type2.jpg https://image.ibb.co/nxjkTk/type3.jpg Installed Titanium torx screws. I had galvanized steel ones that were ugly and corroded. Now I never have to worry about that ever again. Despite being in direct contact with water, sunlight, chemical agents, dirt they will never tarnish. https://image.ibb.co/eRqaTk/titanium_screws.jpg |
New aluminium flappy paddles
https://image.ibb.co/j9pm4Q/flappy.jpg |
You're very devoted to your GLK :)
Where did you find them there fancy paddles? |
They are shared with some other models, you can get them at any dealership for about $90 a pair.
If you like to shift gears with the paddles they are a must have or even if you have your hands at the horizontal position they feel necessary. At first glance they still look like plastic to me, but they definitely feel hotter/colder than plastic once I had them on. I am so glad I did the steering wheel mods as a priority. You spend 100% of the time holding onto the steering wheel while driving, so it doesn't hurt the wallet to invest in a comfortable, good looking, durable steering wheel. |
wow the steering wheel looks great, keep us posted on how installation goes. more importantly how wheel bearing service goes, prob not a job for faint of heart.
|
I dont think the wheel bearing will be hard to do. You just need a big torque wrench and giant circlip pliers among common tools. I wont be due for them until 100,000 mile/ 160,000 kilometers, but imma do them early. My friend will help me as he he has big impact tools for the axle nut removal.
|
Got my titanium wheels bolts back.
https://image.ibb.co/hBNPMG/IMG_4631.jpg https://image.ibb.co/jW228w/IMG_4632.jpg |
So been kinda procrastinating, but bought a whole bunch of transmission and spark plug stuff. Just hit 80,000 miles/128,750 kilometers!:zoom: I went with a mix between Mercedes and OEM parts.
-722.9 transmission oil -transmission washer -transmission filter (a2212770200) -Transmission seal -other hardware -Bosch spark plugs -Air intake seals, UPPER (a2761410180) -spark plug grease (a0029898051) https://image.ibb.co/eBAKXb/stuff.jpg Another side project is the rear and front dome light from the W212 and CLS550 cars. This requires some rewiring, but i have already ordered the correct wire harness from the dealer so it just needs the headliner remove and plug-n-play when it arrives. This will allow my passengers to use the lights in the back. Philips LED bulbs will be used. I might also do a full black headliner conversion. The rough cost to do a black headliner conversion with original mercedes parts is around $1300 USD. I might also test the waters with black and light grey two tone headliner. One more small thing i am changing is the interior LED to the W222 S550 interior lights. they completely interchange in the slot, but you will need to rewire. https://image.ibb.co/eCkdsb/IMG_4853.jpg https://image.ibb.co/hA4hJG/IMG_4852.jpg https://image.ibb.co/k94Skw/IMG_4855.jpg |
Oh here is the black dome light from a W212. I love the way this opaque plastic cover looks with the black border.
https://ibb.co/hSTUFw https://image.ibb.co/cB70Nb/lullll.jpg If you ever intend to change the color of the dome light I recommend just buying a black one from a W204 C250. The E and CLS "can" interchange but the electrical connectors are very different, they use different bulbs, etc. Everything is similar enough that there is a way:) |

Well I ended up buying the incorrect W212 E-class ceiling control console. So there was a change in connectors sometime during the refresh. OOPS!
I ended up just ordering the correct one (212-906-46-01-9051) because it is simple impossible to modify the ceiling control console and doing the rewiring is headache with engineer's diagrams. Still waiting on my cable harness for the middle dome lights. It is gonna to be crazy to pull apart the entire headliner :D https://image.ibb.co/ccq2jb/difference.jpg |
Hello guys,
I just wanted to let you guys know that we are selling the emblem mentioned by the op on eBay. Here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-ON-MER...4AAOSw2yRZlNrJ The part number fits all cars that take the 2078170316 part number. I pretty much listed all of the cars that 0008171601 emblem fits in the description. If anyone want to know a part number for any specific part, let me know. We have access to pretty much all OE parts and we sell them at a discount! Any questions, shoot me an email or pm.( email is faster) Art info@ah-24.com |
Hi Johnny,
First, you've been a great help to me on this forum, I really appreciate it. I ordered the blacked out emblem like yours but off ebay. Turned out to be a plastic knock off I believe. I pulled the emblem off and it wasn't the right type. I wanted to post a picture of what I had and confirm with you that the part number you posted for the black emblem would fit my '11 GLK. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...c4a38f8756.jpg |
All GLK350 /GLK300 / GLK250 / GLK220 have the same exact bonnet from 2009-2015. The part number I gave is the correct 2 prong style made of ABS plastic. Enjoy!
|
Nice build thread you have going on here! For your steering wheel upgrade, it was plug and play for you? As in all your steering wheel buttons function properly including your horn? I'm assuming you used a closely compatible steering wheel where the buttons and relay still align the same way in order to function.
I actually attempted this steering wheel upgrade months ago using a much newer model steering wheel (2016 E class steering wheel with fingerprint functionality) on my 2010 GLK350 with minimal success. i even retrofitted my original contact plate and circuitry to fit into this steering wheel as well as replaced the fingerprint module to the older buttons and still can't even get the horn to work properly. |
You need all physical buttons (with arrows), the cable, airbag, and the correct contact plate. Check out the W204 sedan steering wheel retrofit mod. There is a ton of good information down there.
|
You may find that the front bearings are pressed in. I have not done this on an MB but on several other German vehicles the bearings are pressed in as a complete set. You need an arbor press to press them in. To get them out you usually need to press the shaft out which actually pulls the outside inner bearing out which destroys the bearing. SInce you are going to replace the bearing anyway this is not a problem except it take an arbor press to do it. You can buy a 6 ton hydraulic A frame bench press from Harbor Freight for about $80. Creck to see if it has enough clearance for the hub assembly.

Nice , work
|
The old map light used one bulb, the new one uses three. It is pretty bright if all three are on! In addition, I am using LED so quite a difference.
I was also thinking about a black headliner with all the pillars black too, but I really like how well the black and light grey contrasts in my car. My other idea is to order black ceiling handles and black front folding mirrors. What do ya guys think? |
Finally did the conversion. I was crossing my fingers hoping I ordered the correct parts because I had no Dealer help with this. I used a brand new GLE63 fully optioned circuit board with great success. Now to find a good deal on black walnut trim.

ou can utilize most steering wheel cores with from the 2015-2018 cars ($800+). You cannot use the W222 two spoke wood steering wheel.
Use that as your blank canvas, you will need to add in the trim, electronics, and airbag. https://stockphotos.motorcar.com/chr...nsparent/6.jpghttps://www.mercedesbenzcary.com/ass...001_640_11.jpg https://assets.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/Digi...E-028-MCFO.jpg We will start with the electronics. The only buttons compatible with our instrument cluster are: 099-905-06-00-9107 - (black left arrow button) about $50 099-905-07-00-9107 - (black right button) about $50 https://image.ibb.co/jEmaSx/Untitled.jpg No other buttons will work. There are two identical looking right side buttons, ensure you order a 099-905-07-00-9107 version, NOT the 099-905-03-00-9107 as the computer is different. There are several compatible circuit boards, but I found the universal one to be the GLE63 circuit board 099-464-13-00 (around $80). This will work regardless if you have or don't have heated and lane keep assist. The only issue is you have heated steering and install a steering wheel without the heating element and turn on heated steering; the instrument panel will display heated steering malfunction. The wire harness cables are interchangeable between all the models regardless of the button style. |
Next we will discuss the trim. If you bought a round bottom steering, the trim does not need to be switch. If you decided on the flat bottom sporty steering wheel, the trim housing the buttons has to be made compatible.
The silver plastic trim you need is 099-464-30-13-2A17 (runs about $150). If the core comes with black buttons, it is likely you do NOT need to change this. A steering wheel from the S63 AMG with silver buttons will need to be change (this was my scenario). You can also change the bottom trim to be all silver or say AMG / AMG EDITION 1. https://a.d-cd.net/71ec075s-960.jpg https://a.d-cd.net/666c075s-960.jpg Lastly the steering wheel air bag. They are MANY MANY that are compatible from beige leather stitched to black synthetic only. I won't go into too much detail on this, but for sport bottom you need 000-860-17-02-9116 Black synthetic. round bottom steering wheel will need 000-860-15-02-9116. If you get anything with wood or carbon fiber you can expect well over $1000 for the wheel itself. Leather only versions can be had for less than $400 on the used market. |
Thank you , Johnny

Hey Johnny,
Nice modding! My wife just found a 2015 with only 16k miles off a lease. Its pretty basic so I will need to start making upgrades! Git started this morning with the easy stuff, ordered Weathertech floor mats. A couple of questions for you Did you actually add memory seat control on the passenger side? What did you replace the ashtray with? |
Regarding the memory seat; i hit a road block trying to source a seat with the memory package. In the USA, the seat itself has to come with premium real animal leather. So I would have to spend a ton of money to get a seat in the right color or buy a leather seat and convert to my color. You also need to make a custom wire harness for the controls to the door modules. But from the module to the seat uses this part number for a wire harness 204-440-40-35 (memory, passenger right side). So will probably be a long time before i find some seats and add it in.
Still trying to source the center console ash tray delete. only available outside of America. Various retailers i tried to contact, with money in hand, never followed up. It is not even an expensive part either.... like €40 https://images-ext-1.discordapp.net/...665&height=499 |
Ashtray Delete
Thanks Johnny
memory passenger seats are off the wish list! Interesting that Europe has a non ash tray version but not the US Ok did some research last night According to this parts breakout (source LINK) We need 2 maybe 3 parts, The non Ashtray storage module(35), the insert(75) and the plug(40)(if it is not included in the storage module, but it appears it is included- confirmed its included in 35). https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...dd7674823c.png Pictures of each part https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...44525849b5.jpg A2046809050 https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...db2f223891.jpg A2046890396 https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...657ae3e68c.jpg A0008204951 But damn Johnny, you are right - these are hard to find. Well all but the plug. My wife was lamenting that there is no place to put your glasses in the GLK, this mod would be perfect(if she doesn't fill it with other stuff first!) |
The rubber insert is available for order in the USA, but not the plastic tray. I might tell my uncle to order a few from Taiwan or Japan Mercedes-Benz Dealers instead of European. I have the rubber insert already.
You do not need the outlet, that is for the the 2008-2012 because the parts diagram you posted includes both versions. This mod is not possible for the W204, there is a shifter mechanism there. |
LOL
I contacted an MB internet part supplier and asked if they could get the part. Here is their reply We can not source any item that is restricted from US import from Mercedes. This includes many European only part options included signal lamps and other interior parts.Thank you for contacting us.Best regards,

How do you switch the clock face display? My wife really likes the one that is at the top of your post. I don't see the option to change this. Thanks, in advance.
|
The ashtray swap out looks great! How did you finally end up getting the part?
|
I got impatient and just ordered a whole black center console for the ash tray. Got it used in 2 days from Germany.
You needs to activate the engineering mode to switch between the clocks. |
JohnnyC, do you think adding dynamat to the bare floor would quiet the interior even more? It's pretty quiet, now, but, was wondering if it could be made more quiet.
Thanks! |
yeah it would. and add sound insulation in the rear door. only front door has it.

Same petrol V6, rear axle drive. I actually bought it in November, have not posted anything about it until now. 29,900 miles on the odometer. Its optioned quite differently than my old one. As for the old 89,600 mileage 2013 I recently sold it locally for $13,500. I didnt see the point of additional registration, insurance, maintenance, fuel, & garage space for identical cars. There are so many little things different between the 2013 versus 2015 you wouldn’t notice unless you owned both for a while. Some quick things are: -Instrument cluster -power outlets -Radio Infotainment -Rear armrest -VIN spot |
Nice. Time for some subtle mods.

I already did quite a bit of mods:
https://i.ibb.co/F0DM4C1/steering-wheel.jpg This is an original facelift E-Class seat switch block (A2129050351 + A2129050251). I didn't want to mess around with the chinese replicas, so these had to have the door panel off to install. https://i.ibb.co/VwZjKZH/door-ambient-light.jpg https://i.ibb.co/GWF4G10/dash-ambient-light.jpg Nearly everything has been converted to LED from Philips in 4000K. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....1cwghaSZDL.jpg https://i.ibb.co/K509j1r/entry-lights.jpg https://i.ibb.co/Kjj8cDF/mirror.jpg Can't forget about the ash tray delete, I kept that on my new car. I am going to keep posting my new car on my old thread to consolidate everything together. |
Love the wheel and leather airbag.

Test fit of my new brake rotors and calipers. Hit a very minor bracket depth fitment issue that will be remedied with washers. Almost didn't clear my 20" wheel spoke but the 19" cleared with tons of room.

Thank you GLK Super Fan!
I still haven't decided on the rears rotors yet, a choice between ⌀330mm or ⌀360mm rotors. I am for certain getting them professionally powder coated but also have not decided on a color. I really want to do discrete black without AMG or Brembo logos. |
So I ended up getting the rear calipers designed for ⌀360mm rotors. This is a full tear down for powder coating, I decided on a light gloss black (Brembo doesn't recommend powder coating at all, but I assessed the risks/difficulties involved and decided I wanted the invulnerability to brake fluid).
Also you might be asking why didn't I buy matching calipers? Well that is because the larger rear caliper only comes in dark grey, red, bronze orange. Light grey is no longer offered for the bigger calipers, although they are utilized in junior AMGs like the GLC43 or E43. The front I wanted the twin bleeders instead of the later simplified single bleeder; in addition I liked the bracket on the older C219 caliper despite having to use a big washer. I might be doing a vented piston setup, but it is quite costly at $500 USD for the fronts. The bridgepipe might also get replaced by an unpainted Brembo GT-s or GT-R caliper bridgepipe. https://i.ibb.co/SPXP0Zj/lol.jpg I am hoping to get everything installed by the end of March. Nearly all the parts are here; just gotta schedule time to do it and customize some parts. |

Will be modding like crazy, maybe not as much as you have, but will be having fun for sure! With doing the big brake kit, do you think you will find much improvement in the braking? (I'm coming from a 2010 A4 with a Big Brake kit on all four corners with 15" front rotors), so I find that the braking is lacking in this … But then again, I've only had this for 2 days. :) |

The tyres are always more important than the caliper or rotors. So I have fresh new all-season tyres, so my braking distance would be reduced if I used sticky summer/performance tires. I personally don't care about the performance; I am doing this brake change for the looks and ease of maintenance. Then you have the pads, that is the next most important item. There is no such thing as a perfect pad, a pad that bites hard will be very dusty or noisy. I am going to be using the factory equipped pads and they are quite dusty. Anyone doing a brake change should focus spending the most money on front pads and tyres. |

My bespoke stainless brake lines are in. https://i.ibb.co/nQ4vNgJ/brake-fluids.jpg These are the fluids I will be utilizing. I am intrigued to see how well the Brembo seal conditioning fluid will work for the caliper assembly. It is made in the United Kingdom and the brake lubricant is made in Germany. The brake fluid is very simple Brembo DOT4 from when I bought bulk last year. I think most people over complicate with the brake fluid selection. https://i.ibb.co/cLMFZ5f/front-pad.jpg Massive front pads. I regret buying these very expensive pads due to the fact they are very dusty right out the packaging! No doubt they will bite hard. https://i.ibb.co/MGcd5Hp/textar.jpg When you install any of the pads they are directional with the stainless shims. As a matter of fact, majority of the performance brake parts have orientation to them. From rotors, pads, calipers, spring clips, to brake hoses, the orientation is important (usually indicated by arrow)! https://i.ibb.co/cQNjqD2/front-rear.jpg https://i.ibb.co/yqJ73jr/IMG-0135.jpg These replacement bleeder nipples were not too expensive from the Mercedes-Benz dealer. They arrive as a package of two. https://i.ibb.co/23Y6YrL/bracket.jpg Here's the original bracket with new updated flange bolts. The increased surface area and hex head is a great improvement over the original X204 bolts. |

Only the rears are direct fit, but the biggest challenge was the brake lines. None of the stock brake lines will be compatible.
The front are from CLS63 W219 chassis. And I found out you cannot utilize stock wheels with the front 360mm rotors; the 390 will give more clearance with the 6 pistons. I'm about 95% done with this project. The brakes have been on the car, last two things are new dust shields and stainless brake lines for the rear. |
https://i.ibb.co/c8vZ9bt/S-3334149.jpg
https://i.ibb.co/QvfXXXM/stainless.jpghttps://i.ibb.co/3psw3SL/S-3506183.jpg The front now has custom made 60 centimeter length lines by Goodridge. Before I was using the X166 166-420-03-48 and it was a perfect fit. When you switch to the stainless lines you have to route them differently than OE, but there was no issue with it binding on the suspension or wheels. The rears are still rubber from 212-428-00-35. I found through my research this was the perfect length. None of the C63 lines I ordered will fit a GLK, so therefore I installed them on my W205 C300. Lastly, I just ordered new Carbon Ceramic caliper dust shields from the dealer. |
Put a few hundred kilometers on my new brakes and they stop really good. Traveled over a gigantic road trench in Hollywood and thought my wheel was gonna pop off; but luckily everything looks safe when I returned home.
Only issue i encountered is a noise from creeping. By that I mean from a very slow speed (10km) to zero will develop a high pitch noise. I might modify the pads or try the other different types of pads. System should be properly lubricated and bedded in. |
Hey, where did you find this? What was the cost on it? Thanks in advance!

So I finally found some reverse LED bulbs that I liked on Amazon from this company called MAXGTRS. These bulbs actually have a housing for the board.

Gents, T10 or T15?
|
So the stock one is a W16W, 921, or T16 size. You can't use the T16 from this company because it is too long. You have to use the T10 version.
|
Thanks Johnny, that was my concern. T10 it is then.

Just did my engine and transmission mounts today with the help of a forum member here!
The transmission mount was very easy and quick; whereas the two engine mounts are extremely time consuming and challenging. I am using 204-240-35-17 and 212-240-10-18 as parts. The new transmission mount is much more stout and stiff than our original mount. https://i.ibb.co/yVc4Mhm/2122401018-1.jpg https://i.ibb.co/2dCNZjw/2122401018-0.jpg https://i.ibb.co/1vJ4PX5/2122401018-2.jpg https://i.ibb.co/KDMfDzC/2042403517-0.jpg https://i.ibb.co/hHyj4Zp/2042403517-1.jpg |

What are your part numbers? What buttons are not working? Are you certain you have the correct circuit board?
|
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...aab6f9c24e.jpg
This is the adapter that should make the wheel buttons function. But it seems like no one knows how to connect it properly even with the instructions. If YouTube w222 steering wheel adapter a video comes up where the new wheel is working using the adapter. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...6ebac41eaf.jpg This is the new steering wheel. |
Can't help you there. Whoever did those crimps used the incorrect repair type/butt connectors. Looks really sketch in my opinion.Perhaps contact the aftermarket manufacturer for more information?

I can attest to our cars being really safe and airbags hurt🤕. Total loss, VIN is WDCGG5HBXFG412689.

Oh no! Hope you and everyone else is OK.
|
What a Drag!
|
Yeah I'm okay, been sleeping terribly since the crash (which happened a few weeks ago by the way). Taking a huge financial hit on it too because I don't agree with the valuation with my insurance.
|
Truly sucks, sorry man. Yes, insurance companies tend to lowball you on their calculated value but you can oftentimes counter them. For example, find some GLKs of the same year and similar mileage for sale at nearby MB dealer(s) and show your insurance claims guy the retail prices. Obviously your GLK was upgraded in many ways but it's unlikely that would significantly increase its value in the claims guy's eyes.
Best you can hope for is for them to match the retail price of a comparable GLK so you can get back into one, should you want that. Either way, the situation stinks. Hoping everything turns out OK in the end, good luck. |
I'm not factoring in the modifications I did. Just strictly speaking about the car as it came from the factory and the 50,000 miles or so I put on the car.
|
I already settled with insurance as the accident happened weeks ago. I would definitely get back into another GLK as I personally witnessed how safe it is given the collision circumstances.
|
So sorry to see that you had an accident with the GLK, loved all of the work you did on yours.
Most importantly, you are ok. Hope you find something you will be happy with and continue your passion of these GLK's. |
I am ready to pull the trigger on my third GLK.
It's going to be fun to do spark plugs, engine mounts, oil change again, and all the cheap mods. LOL just kidding I am dreading it. I've done the M276 spark plug job 5 times in two years on three different cars. |

It is going to be black. I honestly don't care about the color, just happened to have options similar to my former 2015. I also did consider the GLC300, but I don't like the engine and interior. I did a bunch of service on my family's W205 C300 (car I'm driving now) and it is slightly easier than the M276, but tons of noise and not very smooth.
I will lose out on my heated seats and trailer package. |
@JohnnyC What mileage do engine and transmission mounts need to be replaced? I looked back a few pages on this thread where you replaced them, but I didn't see any mention of mileage or age (years). Thanks.
|
I did everything early/off schedule. I did the mounts around 48000 miles I believe.
Typically you go by physical condition of the part. On the transmission mount, I was going from a regular mount to a stiffer AMG mount (more rubber). |
Congrats Johnny, glad you'll be rolling in a boxy GLK again! Once they get under your skin, nothing else quite looks/feels the same.
Be sure to post pics! |
Johnny,
Where did you find the black ash trim? I'd love to do that to mine. I have an almost all black interior with the gray trim so I always thought the burl looked a bit out of place. I'd have to do the doors as well to match so I'm not sure if this is even feasible. Thanks and the GLK looks awesome...I'm planning on adding a few of your mods in the future and keep referring to your thread for ideas! DM |
