Headlights replacement (halogen to xenon-hid conversion)
Ok guys, I'm trying to find as much information possible on upgrading my actual halogen headlights to xenon-hid on my '13 GLK Bluetec.
I am aware that it is way too expensive and complicated to use OEM headlights and hardware from Mercedes.
What I'm interested in, is the China/Taiwan headlights version that uses the same wiring harness and fits "plug and play" with my truck.
Is there anyone on this forum that actually did the conversion? Is it really plug and play or you need extra resistors or progammation to avoid getting error codes on your dash?

Does the kit come with a ballast and wiring harness? So add another 100$. I kept the stock fixture and used Philips Hid conversion kit, output is about 3x more. You must aim your lights all the way down to not blind people. The kit is about 125$ and was 60$ for my car stereo shop to install . The 4300k is a good light color. I think it's Philipsxenon.com. Get the kit first. Factory ballasts are mounted in the fender to keep them cool, I'm going to lower mine as engine heat has made them fail on occasion.

Keep us posted if you get these installed. If they are plug and play I would be very interested at that price as well...I would probably upgrade the lighting to some quality d2h bulbs if it ships with a generic set

Project is on hold as I couldn't get any information or installation procedure. All companies selling these lights are not able to provide installation instructions.
I got frustrated, I mean how can you sell something and not provide instructions or details?
Another member of this board actually did it but he gets error messages on his dash and that's not what I want, I'm looking for a trouble free installation.

That's good but you went with a different route, you kept the stock halogen headlight and added a HID bulb kit right? In my case, I want to change the full headlights with a china/tawain copy version of OEM Mercedes Xenon-HID headlights.

1) are those the lights from the original link to Amazon?
2) are you getting any error codes?

I am seriously missing my Bi-Xenons from my 17 GLA. Going back to halogens in my 2015 GLK250 is brutal! My wife's ML250 has the factory Bi-Xenons and she cant believe how bad these lights are on the GLK!

I do get error codes when the low beams go automatically on at night but they don't stay on, you simply press the "back" button on your steering wheel and they go away.
During day time you don't get any error codes. It is seriously not annoying at all.
I did buy them directly on Amazon, fast shipping and well packaged.

Debating between doing an HID/LED Kit or swapping to one of these chinese headlight kits. (just the name itself worries me lol, 'chinese headlights')...but it's good to hear with your specific kit you aren't having issues. Good to know.
