ATF flush - no pan drop, filter/gasket change

2013 glk 350 rear wheel drive at 70000 miles at independent foreign car servicer.
I wasn't smart enough to ask beforehand if they dropped pan and changed filter and gasket. They didn't.
It was cheaper ( $300 vs $500) than dealer flush with pan drop etc.
Should I be concerned from a technical perspective they did a flush that didn't include a drop of pan and a filter and gasket change?
And used BG ATF? And they failed to note in their estimate?
Thanks!

I would not worry too much about not changing filter, but don't know about BG ATF. I used MB fluid and drained the torque converter, which holds half of the fluid. So just do a full flush with torque converter drain and pan drop in 40k miles.

I don't normally recommend the dealer but I would bite the bullet and goto the dealer now and get a proper full service done. They did not use the proper fluid, did not change the filter, and only changed half the fluid? You should also demand a refund. They should know to use the right fluid in these transmissions. Here is a list of approved fluids, that contain the proper chemicals and additives:

dealers will change half of the fluid too. You need to drain torque converter to get most of the fluid out, which dealers don't do.

i think some do some don’t. Need to specifically ask and confirm.

I would be surprised as it doesn't call for it and doubles the time and amount of fluid.
I have zero faith in Benz dealers and stopped servicing my car there long time ago after they couldn't figure out which light bulb was out (no joke).

i agree not a fan at all, try to do everything myself. But at least they will use the right fluid

If you are lucky. There was a change over of fluid in 2010. Some cars use blue some red. Hopefully they would go by VIN.

FYI I paid $700 at another independent to replace the 236.14 w 236.15 and change filter and gasket and bolts. This after clunking started ominously w the 236.14.
All seems well now except for my pocketbook and lost time. Original independent refunded the $300 I paid for flush originally. Live and learn.

"BG universal ATF" uhhh that's a big fat no.
get that **** out of your transmission asap.

I would hand this off to MB and tell them the wrong fluid is in there, they may suggest doing the service twice, or have a way to get all the fluid out. Even draining the TQ is gonna leave some of that stuff in there. Filter needs to be changed too...

^ This. You need the right spec fluid in there. They did a half-a$$ed job. Replace with the right fluid or risk expensive transmission damage; up to you.
