I got this in my email last week. Called the local dealer and they said it was an ECU update. Is there any way for me to find out more details?

Also, any way for me to find out if I already have the update? I use a local non dealer Mercedes repair shop. They told me my car is up to date on software.

Not sure how your indy can tell you that. They usually don't have that capability. Thats restricted to dealer only.

Is that the Nationwide MBusa number? Or the local dealer?

Call Mercedes CS. Looks like it is an update to the ECU that prevents it from triggering false warnings on the driver's display.
