GLK rear sway bar bushing problem

GLK rear sway bar bushing problem

Hi guys

I'm planning to change my 2013 GLK rear sway bar bushing , so I bought a couple of bushings.

But the shape of rear sway bar bushing bracket is somewhat different from other Mercedes model's

Will it be hard to remove old bushing and put in new one?

Please answer to my question and good luck.

I guess the question I'd have is: why? How have you determined that you need new RSB bushings? Or is this a preventive measure?

agree with this. The merc bushings on the GLK is one of the more robust components I have seen. They usually don't go out this quick. Heck, even my shocks and struts are good at 70k.

contrary to my BMWs these typically need to be replaced every 60k

Mine is still on the original shocks and springs, FWIW. I’ve only replaced front brakes, and that was once at 74k miles.

In general, I’ve found the Merc suspension quite robust.

I just wanted to change them for preventive measure but after reading all the replies I'd better not do that,

I would only do it if there sizeable play, dry rot, or cracking and that is usually in conjunction with other components like control arm bushings, tie rods, and strut mounts..
