I have met all the requirements stated above for 'hold' to work. I do not have Distronic PLus in this vehicle so it seems that I need a code reader to begin to ferret out the source of my inconvenience.

Sounds like a lot of effort just to be able to rest your foot.

Ya guess that will be the only option right now. Did you get one yet?

If you want something relatively affordable and known to be capable of reading MB codes, you could get something like Launch CReader on amazon or something.

Perhaps there is something stored in the computer preventing the function from activating, I mean it really isn't that difficult, you come to a complete stop and just push the brake harder then release is all it takes usually to activate it.

I am pretty sure that the Hold function wasn't available until GLK MY2013 MY2012 (along with ECO start/stop.)

I have a 2010 GLK350. It has Hill-start assist, but it does not have the Hold function or ECO start/stop, and the Hold function isn't listed in the owner's manual.

Double-check the owners manual for your model year and see if the Hold function is listed.

I could be wrong though!

Hmmm that is interesting, I thought MB had the hold feature since the 00s.

Are you sure your 2011 has it? Does your 2011 also have ECO start/stop?

Here's the 2011 GLK operators manual from MBUSA: https://www.mbusa.com/css-oom/assets...s-manual-1.pdf
CTRL-F "Hold Function" - it's not there

The "Hold Function" is in the 2012 manual though: https://www.mbusa.com/en/owners/manu...-suv-2012-x204

I was told by three sources that it was on my vehicle but by comparing the two manuals I can definitely see they were mistaken. Thank you for setting me straight and I now consider the matter closed. Also thanks to everyone else that had input.

Very interesting. OP, if you ordered the scanner, return it, no need it anymore.

My apologies for misleading information. I had it on a 2003 W211 E-Class, so I thought it had filtered down to everything by ‘07/‘08.

Maybe keep the scanner if you ordered it. If you use it to reset something that would otherwise be a trip to the shop or dealer, it will have paid for itself. Your call.

True, I will take my words back on recommending cancelling the order. The diagnostic fee alone will be the price of the scanner.
