How to check oil pressure

How do you check oil pressure, will an obd dongle and Carly scanner do it? Is it in engineering menu? There must be a way as a MB shop would need to be able to do it.

I have a ScanGauge, which can display most of the parameters of interest in the ECU. I asked their customer service about displaying oil pressure and got this response:

"Unfortunately, we do not have oil pressure available for your 2014 Mercedes GLK 250. An actual oil pressure reading is rarely reported through the ECU as most manufacturers only install a switch that reports when the pressure is low or high."

I jumped to the thread provided by @W205C43PFL and downloaded the PDF to my desktop, so I could look at the PDF on a large monitor (38").

That job connecting a pressure gauge to the dedicated plug seems easy enough and shouldn't take long.

EDIT !!!! ==========
I removed the photo showing our screw plug, because it turned out to NOT BE THE PLUG.

I went out into the garage with a smartphone, opened the hood, located the access plug (I think), and took the photo below. I've added an arrow pointing to what I think is the plug, next to the pulley.

I might jump to the other thread and ask the OP if they have done the job.

Thanks for posting this, it should help OP.

Which engine do you have? I don't think the document from the other thread is the right one. I think your plug is a little down and to the right from the one you are pointing to.

Here is the manual page for the M 272

Ours is an M276 .... 2014 GLK350 Base RWD.

Our engine does not look at all similar to the one in your PDF, which is for 272, 273.

I even took photos of that "right side" and there's zero similarity... it was worth a try though 👍

Check the link in post 14, although the picture resolution is not so good. If I have nothing better to do tomorrow maybe I'll see if I can get a better copy. WIS told me it was a M 272. Hard to look anything up without a VIN.

Okay, great find !! That PDF is for M276. My assumption about the "screw plug" location was rwong.

Looks like my screw plug is even easier to access - just under and to left of oil filter housing. I'll no doubt have to remove the top plastic engine cover to see it. I'll bet it'll take about 15 minutes to attach an oil pressure gauge on our M276.

I'll check all that tomorrow after my early morning appt at the local VA Clinic (semi annual tests).

Okay, found a few minutes to spare, and removed the front upper plastic engine cover (or is it upper front).

See photo - took me 3-4 shots to get a good one. I also sprayed the area with electronic cleaner (for instant dry time).

I point to what I think is the screw plug, but I'm not confident, because the PDF is a bit grainy. I bumped the PDF to 200%, but still a bit blurry. Anyway, I think that screw is it, because the other two are different, and probably used to mount that plate

(M276 engine)

That might be it, you could ask forum member JettaRed for confirmation.

I found the right manual page and the resolution was no better, but, I think you've got the right one. The piece it screws into covers the oil passage from the oil filter to the block.
