Truck Bulb Connecting Wire

I have looked but can't seem to find what I think should be simple anywhere. I'm guessing whoever last attempted to change the bulb in the truck of my GLK350 somehow lost the connecting wire to the bulb which is on the right side of the truck. I have tried to feel in the small space for the wire, but only can feel an amp. What is the correct way to remove the larger carpeted piece of the right side wall to locate the wire?

You don’t drive it? I think to replace rear shocks and springs the panels come out. Look it up on YouTube

My bad was half sleep typing that original question... The trunk bulb, on the right side, had no connection wire when I went to check why it was not working. How do I remove the bigger piece of carpeted panel?

Rarely. It's mainly my wife's vehicle. I drive my cars. Thanks tho. I was so tired I didn't think to look for rear shocks. First video I found showed me everything I needed to do. It's a little more than what I thought...

I thought you meant the tail light had no wire. That’s why I asked if you drove it thinking no tail light. It’s well made I don’t think you will feel a loose wire it’s probably hidden in the panel . I will guess the panel was removed and it’s not plugged in or the connector is broke . Most likely someone didn’t plug it back in, yes remove the panel carefully
