GLS Mid-Cycle Refresh
BUT - today, I have checked various dealer websites ... the GL vehicle configurator is down on ALL DEALER websites. I am not a tekkie and am unsure if this means anything or it is just a fluke issue at XX.mercedes-benz.ca, but is this a potential sign something is coming regarding choices or design (i.e. the rumoured changes are about to be fact)?
Anyways, hopefully someone can shed light as to if this is significant or a red-herring.

1) appreciate your long standing insight - very educational reading your many posts.
2) I posted the information citing that it is congruent with the topic of mid-cycle refresh of the GL; the configurator is officially associated with MB that shows the aspects through pictures and options to choose from. My information about my upcoming delivery is really a moot point - just that I am excited. The refresh is, I will assume, a big part of the MB website and the configurator will have to change to reflect those interior pictures and little nuances on the exterior discussed extensively here. It seems a little odd, I believe, that ALL the configurators explicitly for the GL across all dealer websites across CANADA - are all out at the same time while all other model configurators are operating just fine? I have not checked the American sites and since we have seen release dates for different regions happen, it would not surprise me that our release may be different across the border.
It is my assumption, and as stated open added remark of those to humbly rejection of that reason. I am trying to help shed light on this topic though what may be shown in technical aberration meaning is this deliberate? If the site comes back online and nothing is changed then, I stand corrected.
I do hope that explains the connection between my observation and the topic at hand; a company this big should hardly have any mistakes on its delivery of information and since this is a big topic now, one can thus deduce that this is a possibility of indicating a mid-cycle refresh of the GL ... hence this last post on this thread. I do appreciate that the majority of the topic does discuss what is going to be changed physically with the x166, but see this as a refresh topic as well. I was thinking the possibility that this meant that the Canadian version of this mid-cycle refresh is soon upon us! I will stand corrected if any of the above is not the case.

Cristi Stefan of MercedesBlog says the 2017 GLS will make its public premiere at the Detroit auto show in January while others point to next months LA auto show. I'm thinking Detroit is more likely.
I was just thinking about what Fabris said regarding the crash testing of the captains seating second row when a pretty interesting fact occurred to me: I don't think this generation GL has been tested in the US (NHTSA) or Europe (Euro NCAP) to date. That might even be true for the previous generation, as well.
Crash test aside, there was INCREDIBLE data point a while back that was published in January. 9 models sold in the US for model year 2011 suffered zero driver casualties in calendar years 2009-2012. GL was among them. The study included model years as far back as 2008, as well, provided the vehicle was basically the same in all those model years. (2008 model was same as 2009/2010/2011)
So during calendar years 2009-2012, zero casualties were observed for the driver of 2008-2011 Mercedes GLs. (assuming I understood the study correctly)
Think about that for a minute. Incredible stat. I know it reflects probably the demographic of driver, to some degree (safe driving adults/parents, for the most part), but still.....

"The division intends to continue along this successful path in the fourth quarter, and thus to significantly increase its unit sales in the full year. Among other models, the new C-Class Coupé will contribute to the success of the Mercedes-Benz brand. The third member of the C-Class family will be in the showrooms this December. The year of Mercedes-Benz SUVs will be rounded off in November with the world premiere of the new generation of the GLS."
Thats the first official statement I've seen regarding a release since they said that a GL refresh was due in 2015 sometime.

Forget any discounts. Hard to find '16 ATB.
