Overcharged on prepaid maintenance

Overcharged on prepaid maintenance
hi Guys,
I just bought a new GLS-450 in Chicago. I realized after we went home that they over charged for prepaid maintenance
They told me the price was 1995 and no negotiable on 3 yr / 30K
but according to
https://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/servi...id-maintenance
It is 1125.
Since it was a lease, a portion not all was residualized (my guess is 1125 not 1995 was)
I didn't bother to research this at the time because I didn't know the dealer can inflate the price of something advertised on the website. Big mistake.
Now, I am really upset on principal.
I will open a customer service complaint with MB .
One thing though: I did receive the Autopay discount on the MF but didn't provide a canceled check yet. Can I hold that over the business manager and threaten not to provide it ? What can the dealership do if I don't.

Let me give you some advice to make this effective for you - speak to the dealer 1st - before you "call MB" - focus with the dealer 1st who can resolve this for you.
Just because you are upset - why would you risk a higher-rate/payment and NOT give the dealer a canceled check for auto-pay... you would just be hurting yourself

Can the dealer change the Money Factor after we signed?

Try another dealer outside California. They might match it. You can buy from any MBUSA dealer

When I reviewed my paperwork I noted that the final price for my vehicle was $119 higher than I had agreed. Of course the Finance Manager quickly fixed this item without explanation of why the number was wrong.
Isn't it interesting how the alleged "mistake" is always in the dealer's favor?
There is a good lesson here to everyone else: (1) Do your homework so you know the correct prices for everything (2) Read your paperwork before you sign it. Don't be rushed.

Members post lists of dealers who sell maintenance and warranty packs at good price. Try Jeff Jackson at Tafel Mercedes, for one.

Go through some recent posts here to find better deals - https://mbworld.org/forums/extended-...scussions-191/.
You could also take some of those comparisons to your local dealer and ask him/her to match (ours did).

dealers are all marking up prepaid maintenance. Its their way of squeezing us for extra money when you think its an MSRP situation. Mercedes Benz of Bellevue loves to do this.

It's unfortunate - on the "Finance" side - MB Prepaid Maintenance at MSRP delivers let's say 90%+ of the dollars to Mercedes who in turn pays the dealer service dept later at the time the service is done - and dealer "margin" is the rest.
Dealer's measure their Finance Dept's those "profit dollars in" - some Finance Dept's - certainly not all - choose to markup prepaid service over MSRP
Unfortunate...............
