GLS *finally* adds support for Android Auto
Here's the news clip:
Android Auto is now on three new 2017+ Mercedes-Benz vehicles
http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/05...benz-vehicles/
Here's the official page:
Android Auto for Mercedes-Benz
https://www.android.com/auto/mercedes-benz/
At the bottom of this page it lists this:
Note: Android Auto is available for newly purchased vehicles, and may be offered as a standard feature or optional feature. Availability is subject to change and may vary based on geography and trim level.
So does anyone know if MB is enforcing this? I imagine they're trying to avoid a tidal wave of owners asking for the software upgrade.... but it's unlikely to be a technical limitation that would prevent existing owners from updating their GLS. Does anyone have access to the bulletin for this software update?
Thanks!

I have a 2017 on order that I sealed the deal on in January. The order form mentions 'Integration Smartphone Android Auto', so it must've been available in January.
I spent a few thousand on Comand, and I'm not at all clear on what Android Auto is is supposed to do for me. I'm just seeing screens with nav on their webpage, and I have nav, by way of comand.
So, am I supposed to be happy about this ?

Well, as for Australian version, this is what it says in the specification
