any thoughts ? GLS 63 wheels on a GLS 550

Hi All. I have a 2017 GLS 550. I’m not to crazy with the 21” black and silver wheels that come on the GLS 550. I really fancy OEM wheels. Do you think the GLS 63 22” Multi spoke Wheel is a nice upgrade. I know they are hard to find used. Any have a set ?

it depends on you, if you like them more go for it, each owner has his/her own flavor. Me personally i like GLS 550 21s they come with, not that im saying the GLS 63 rims arent bad as well but it depends on you. I assume those would be very hard to find, but maybe ebay has or maybe a GLS63 owner will be willing to part given the right price.. good luck

Hi Changalang and welcome to the forum. I like the GLS63 wheels a lot and started looking for them myself when I purchased my GLS550. I couldn't find them on the web (eBay and the like). I checked with my dealer about ordering them and at the time the GLS63 had just started shipping so the wheels were not readily available yet. I don't recall the exact total but they were very expensive with tires included (around $8,000 for the set installed). I found myself starting to love my wheels, if you know what I mean.

Hey Joe.

I agree. I’m starting to Love my wheels too. The GLS 63 wheels are pricey at the dealer.

Plenty of higher end wheel makers offer OEM style/looking wheels for decent prices. $8k for stock AMG 22's is ridiculous IMO. Do you like them just because they are the AMG wheels? Just curious

These are the wheels I’m in search of. Stole the photo thou for demonstrating purposes
Hey all I truly like the multi spoke OEM GLS 63 wheel and the way it looks. I trust the OEM wheel not so much aftermarket wheels. But yet I do agree $8000 is crazy to pay for a set of wheels. I’m looking for used or takeoffs

You will be happy to know that you wheels will stay much much cleaner than the multispoke wheels. I personally am not a fan, I think it just makes a vehicle look older. I know more cars are showing spokes these days, but it always ends up going back to the classic design that you have now. You may be better off.

Thanks. I really think you might be right. Just got 4 tires put on the GLS550 21 “wheels I was going to buy used 22” AMG multispoke wheelsa and used tires. But tires at summer versions. So that’s another thought on do I really need. Maybe not.

If find there's already a noticable difference in comfort between the 20's (my winter set) and the 21's. 22's May start feeling a bit 'harsh'

I like the 550 wheels over the 63. I have a set of 20s for the winter tires, they are not horrible but I lave spring when the 21's go back on. The price of MB rims is obscene.

I have a GLS63. The stock tires are awful in snow.
