2018 gls 450
2018 gls 450 with 4500 miles got a check engine light,

Took the vehicle to the dealer, they said it was charcoal canister failure which prompted the check engine. Is it normal at this mileage ? Anyone experienced this issues

Its an unusual problem. Has there been any issue with water contamination in your fuel? Maybe just a bum part.

A gaggle of MB's
The "CEL" fortunately is exactly that ... "check engine light" ... fortunately does not mean - pull to the side of the road for emergency stop"..... a good number of early CEL's for new MB owners trace to "not" fastening Fuel Filler cap correctly...

Thanks for admitting that - MOST owner's don't - and ALL wifes NEVER admit it - ever.

Once you're in the groove with the gas cap - it's becomes non-issue..
