Best 2018/2019 gls discount?

Hi all,
received my first email quote on 2019 gls450. Bad numbers.
MSRP 80k 6k off. 36/15k is 1180 with first and DMV due so under 1500. Tax 8 percent. This is with my fleet Discount. There is 2k lease incentivei and fleetfis 2500 but not comnbinable I'm assuming? 'They have 80 in stock so not a small volume dealer. NY. Base mf

I haven't countered yet because the next gen is due summer. I will only pull trigger at 15 percent off (12k). I've heard of people getting similar deals on Edmunds while scanning back on all the pages. 12k off will put me at 990.

Is my aspiring discount too much, too little? X7 was a disaster to lease. Gls is awesome but coming from our updated interior 2017 XC90 it feels dated.

Definitely a hard time to get into a car. Either it's an aging platform due for design, due for facelift, or brand new model and discount is not much . The only higher end suv that had a recent release within the past year is the navigator and kinda big for us. Everything else, Yukon,/tahoe, sub, Escalade, q7, qx80, lx570 etc, sue for changes.

Did you end up buying. I bought a GLS 450 in the Seattle area yesterday for 11% off MSRP + $2500 fleet discount.

2019 GLS 450

Hello,

Here is what have received so far on 2019 gls450.

Best quote given to me is 84k as MSRP, discounted is 73K which includes 2500 fleet discount. MF approx 0.0019 and with MSD approx 0.00049. PM is approx 924. Its a volume dealer in NJ.

I am bit undecided as the next gen is due summer and i feel this could be discounted more. I will only pull trigger at 15 percent off (12k). I've heard of people getting similar deals on Edmunds while scanning back on all the pages. 12k off will put me at 990.

Am I aiming too high?

Of course it's your decision - but if you don't have a dealer that will agree to $12K off it's a moot point and no decision.

"Next Gen" won't be till Fall - soonest end-August at this most likely early-Sept - and frankly new gen won't be discounted much/really.

Mercedes is doing better at tapering off production for gen changeover - so for "later higher discount" you may not find the rig you want if that is important for you.

Tail end of a 3yr/36mo lease - you will be able to early out to another MB Oct/Nov/Dec 2021 where MBFS credits out those remaining last payments to keep you as a customer.

Keep the beat !

I went into my local dealer to test drive the GLE today and also looked at GLS. They still have two 2018 GLS and said their sister stores 2 hours away also have some 2018. I asked about discount and they were only willing to do 10% off the 2018 and $2k off the 2019. (between the three stores that this shop owns, they have close to 50 GLS's on the lot).

Seems they are not discounting them as much as I had hoped. The sales person said MB is not accepting orders for 2019 GLS anymore so whatever is left on the lots and in transit are all that they will have to sell tell the end of the year when the new model comes out.

If they had agreed to $12k off a 2019, then I might have bought it. the GLE is just way too small.

NoCal - that 2018 story was kindof b*ll**** - the only "new" 2018 GLS in NorCal is in Santa Rosa with Smothers there - any other 2018 in NorCal will be either Demo-XLoaner/Brass-Hat-MBExec/or Pre-Owned from somewhere...

March is the LAST MONTH that dealer's can lease Dem0-XLoaner or Brass Hat - and after March 31st they will NOT be any additional money coming from Mercedes.

Unless Legal Pot is muddying the NoCal car business - 10% - 12% on that 18 in Santa Rosa "should" be achievable - with added 1Yr CPO on 18 XLoaner 12% or a hair more "should" be achievable especially if you are planning to lease.

Yes - 2019's GLS's are not overstocked - especially since a LOT of GLS owner's want specific color/interior/equipment - and with what is on-the-ground now - and with what is known to be built - specific combo's are already getting tight for particular dealers/areas.

If you ask about black/black w/Pano roof (and now even black/brown/pano) your dealer will look/sound shell-shocked since that combo is the #1 2019 GLS450 combo being phone and internet shopped by every exporter - every small dealer nationwide everyday gets at least 3-4 inquiries - with exporters looking that particular combo and weaseling for 7%-8% discount - always with a story why they are not a exporter - and then deal comes down to Credit Card deposit on the phone right then and there - wire balance full payment same day - and they have their own carrier for pickup so they can ship it directly to the closest Port.

I walked the lot and sat in the two 2018's that were on the lot. They were brand new with window stickers still on and less than 20 miles on the odo. They offered 10% off for a cash purchase.

20097
20052

These keep going back and forth between new inventory and used inventory on the web site, but the cars are 100% new never registered and has less than 20 miles on them.
