Just got great news !!!
I have a November build date on my 2020 GLS 580. I should be amongst the first in my area to get one. This will be our family's 3rd GL-GLS truck.
We've owned every generation since it first was invented.
We should see the new Baby by Christmas easily as this Merc doesn't even need to cross the Atlantic ...
Looking forward to posting pics soon.

We put our build in for a 580 with a November slot as well, entered the order on Saturday. Also coming out of a GLS 550 when this comes in. My only concern is once it comes in what they will be willing to do on the price. Dealer nonchalantly told me that since i am taking 1 of their 2 580 build slots that they would be selling at MSRP. i don't pay MSRP, so hopefully we can work that out.

Congratulations! Hopefully the GLS won't be affected by all the production delays the new GLE has been experiencing. Some folks who ordered their GLE at the beginning of the year still don't have their cars yet.
I'm hoping to order a GLS450 by the end of the year. (waiting for some folks to get theirs and see how the reviews are).

From what I can tell in the Order Guide, the black headliner is only available as the $1600 DINAMICA option. I wish a black headliner was available as a no-cost option.

I think the Heated Steering Wheel is available on the GLS580, but you have to go back to one of the GLS450 steering wheel options instead of the standard Sport steering wheel.

The Black Flamed trim is an $850 option delayed until January production.

I read somewhere that the MBUX Interior Assistant takes the space for the sunglasses holder in the overhead console.

Carwash function is standard.

I am frustrated by the lack of proper interior options aka exclusive nappa or designo interiors. The only color option of the upgraded leather is delayed and boring (IMO) to begin with. Given that the GLS is now labeled as the S-class of SUV’s it is pretty low rent inside.
Still not a full leather option available like the S-Class.
I would take the current Grand Edition porcelain white/expresso brown interior in the GLS580 in a heartbeat...

This will eventually be figured out but Mercedes is working in glacial pace on this.

Agree. Grey wouldn’t be my ideal choice, but I appreciate the nappa leather.

My dealer did start an order with black not Dinamica so I see it on a draft order as $0, but I’ll double check.

This is my biggest problem with it! I had the exclusive Napa nut brown in my s63 and loved it. I was planning on doing a custom ordered interior with it, but now they are saying since it’s not built in Germany they can’t do it... ( was going to pay extra to have it the way I wanted ). Personally, it’s a gle that’s just bigger. Just put a gle 450 order in for my wife. Got it pretty loaded , minus that 8k option and the sound system. Can’t get the upgraded sound with the amg package. Kinda ridiculous. I really wanted the gls 63 to replace my current, but if it’s not an s class interior I probably won’t go with it. Might hold out for the maybach.

My GLS580 ordered in April. Order accepted by MB in May and when I first got a production date it was Aug. 10 2019. Updated to early Sept. shortly after and noticed about 6 weeks ago production is now Nov. 11, with delivery stated as Dec. 25. I expect to have it before Christmas. In Canada the upgraded Nappa leather option comes with Dinamica included - many of our option packages are different.

The option I am debating deleting is Driver Assistance Package Plus (IDP Intelligent Drive Pkg in Canada) as I don't like the interference when it is not warranted i.e false reading. I only put the option in for resale but now think it could be a waste for me. I don't do a lot of driving in stop and go traffic and I tow a travel trailer often. How important is this option to others especially those who tow regularly?

Mercedes did it right on the new G-Wagon. Also late to the game of course but at least the options were available. Since Mercedes has to already re-work thousands of GLE's and GLS's for seat and bumper issues, I understand they want to work out the kinks before expanding the options. But they are slow and create very consumer-unfriendly choices.
In Germany, the AMG kit is an option on any GLS. Try to get that on the GLS450 here... I like the 580 but would be fine with the 450 if I could pick the options I want.

I have been contemplating the X7 strictly for the interior leather options...

I saw it at New York Auto Show and it seemed very nice
Well worth the cost I think and should help set mine apart from the regular 580s :-)

Did you do lower dash wrap in black (is that the only lower dash option?)

it seems to be it’ll be gray and black with the upgraded interior
the upgraded interior is only offered in gray and black combo at release of 580

It says ‘dashboard’ so maybe that’s upper and lower where otherwise, it says ‘lower’ - I wasn’t sure. For the price, I would hope it’s both.

agreed, if you are spending 105k might as well spend 115k and get everything you want at that point. car is too nice to under equip.
