2022 Gls 450
Folks - I am new to this forum. I am looking to place and order for 2022 gls 450 with amg lighting package. I am looking for if someone can share details about a build that may may have been recently ordered and how much it cost and if you were able to negotiate any discounts with your dealer. Additionally looking for advise if mbtex vs leather package should be ordered and in long term are massaging seats worth the investment. Your advise and comments will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Discounts aren’t happening in the current market. Some places are marking up GLSs 10k.
As for the leather bs MB-Tex, I don’t think the leather feels nicer, and in fact I actually think the mb Tex feels softer and more plush. Lu it wears much much better long term with much less work. The massage seat won’t hold more value, but it is a nice feature. It requires the leather, but if you don’t get the massage seat, I probably wouldn’t get leather either.

Unless something has changed, we were told they didn’t have the chips for the massage seats so that wasn’t an option for us. We decided to go with the MB Tex because of that, to save some money but also because I felt like they would handle damage more readily and we have three young kids. We weren’t able to get any discounts except $1000 off through the AMA program. But at least we didn’t pay $10,000 over MSRP like it sounds like some dealers are pushing for.

Ordered Sept 1 with a Nov 1 build date. Hoping it will arrive by thanksgiving.
Of note, because of chip issues, they aren’t including wireless charging, needed to wait until mid Jan build for that. Have heard that certain other options like 2nd row shades may also have limited availability for same reason.
no discount, it’s at MSRP.

My build spec for a 2022 GLS450 included augmented reality for nav, Dashcam, and NFC / wireless charging, but when the vehicle was delivered last week, I got them without these options and the dealer is refusing to commit to a retrofit at a later date.
Is there any way we can push for it to get a commitment for a retrofit at a later date? had anyone experienced this scenario and were able to resolve a way forward?

In almost two decades of purchasing MB's, I have never ever heard of a dealer that is willing to do a retrofit for missing items once a car is delivered. I don't think other car manufacturers will be willing to do that too I think.
With the supply chain problem going on for more than a year, you are lucky you even got a car.
As far as your dealer is concerned, they would be VERY happy if you don't accept that car because there are 20 people behind you willing to buy it for $$,$$$ more than your purchase price.
Take it and drive away as fast as you can.

We picked up our 2022 GLS 450 yesterday, paid MSRP, plus some warranty, tax, registration, minus Company discount! All things included, the price was over 6 figures.
We custom ordered this vehicle on 9/25, it arrived exactly 2 months later.
Test drove BMW X7, Landrover vehicles, didn't like both of them.
They didn't have the wireless charger, that they gave $200 discounts for, otherwise, the car came up with exactly what we were looking for.
It is a big vehicle but drives great, the initial hybrid is great.
We took the Warmth/Cold package along with Drivers Assist.
Also have other accessories such as trailer hitch and 6 seats option.

anyone have a recent update on build timelines?
i have a GLE53 on order that was supposed to be a jan build, but was told this week it was pushed to march.
im looking at selling the wifes 2105 G550 as the market is insane for them, and im thinking of placing an order for a GLS450 for her. happy they have offered the AMG line so i can get it without those awful black fenders.
anyone have the flowing lines trim? she wants the machiato beige, and would do the walnut or flowing lines. really like the new S class vertical flowing lines, but i do like the look on these brown version vs the black horizontal ones they first came out with.
