STAR Diag
Just wanted to throw it out there if anyone needs any mods done (you would have to tell me what and where) or computer read/diagnosed I have the 11/2012 developer version of SDS and can meet somewhere in the Pearl City area to hook up. When I buy a car I personally always read old codes and erase them to start from scratch.

If you wanted to buy a laptop with the software on it I am selling the same setup I am using here -- XENTRY Laptop Tablet 1TB SSD -- Passthru or with XDOS/SDconnect C4 it is extremely fast and overkill if you are just going to use it for car diags but I like it and am happy with not waiting, all the extra space and being able to use it as a tablet or laptop. I have XENTRY developer mode, EPC/WIS, SDMedia (repair videos), Starfinder (wiring diagrams) and Vediamo (never had to use it yet) setup on mine.
The C4 mux I got here -- S+++ quanlity AM79C874VI Chip PCB V2018.12 MB Star C4 mb sd connect compact 4 SD C4 and took it apart and was exactly what was listed with the chips/processors. I have only had it a week now so not sure how durable it is but should be ok; my C3 is still going strong after 5 years off and on use so hope for the same on the C4.
If you want to put everything together like I did both https://cartechnology.co.uk and https://*******.com/ are invaluable resources to get the software working.
The C4 should be able to be used on 2000 and up cars and is wireless to the laptop using XENTRY while the C3 can talk up to 2011 cars but limited using only DAS for the W204 and uses a cable to the laptop.
You can also just get a cheap $15 cable to talk to cars but also has limited funtions using XENTRY Passthru (I don't know how limited because didnt use it except just to read codes on a 2017 GLA). There are many cables you can get and even bluetooth adapters that connect to the car's OBD port and your laptop wirelessly. This is similar to one I got and used it both for Lexus and Mercedes W204 successfully (the original seller doesn't have any) Toyota J2534 cable I know there are 2 versions of that adapter when I bought mine last year with better circuitry and newer firmware but the one I got was not the better one and still worked. Just have to do some research and hope for the best. (got some info from this forum before I bought my cable and google of course http://www.ft86club.com/forums/index.php)
It all depends what you want to do -- if you just want to read and clear codes just use XENTRY Passthru and a J2534 adapter.
If you want to be able to diag, change settings and troubleshoot in more depth like me then a C4 Mux is a must.
