C32 with pulley/chip vs M3

OK so I know I a bad person, I'm sure Impro will be along shortly to post my resume of constant lying/etc/ But I recently had a run-in with a buddy with a C32. He now has the following mods:

- Pulley
- ECU
- De-catted exhaust
- Aquamist water injection
- 102RON race fuel

I was running pump & I have some basic bolt-on mods. We did 2 standing starts & 2-3 rolling runs at a private testing facility which we now own. One of our other buddies filmed so I might have some footage soon.

Anyway I was surprised how well his 32 comes off the line. I have raced many & none were this quick. Maybe its the mods to a degree or maybe he's just a good driver. He does have a few drag racing championships under his belt with his other racecar.

But in 1st & 2nd gears we were pretty even in every run. 3rd gear I start to wak him. Pull maybe a length as will be seen on the videos. 4th I pull another length. Then the strangest thing happens. I look in the mirror & he's about 2 cars back & I'm inching him very slightly. Basically it's dead even.

I've reached redline in 4th & go into 5th. Check the mirror - what's this? He's closing. And not slowly either, he's coming like a steam train. This happened on all 5 runs. Closes from 2 lengths back to right on my back wheel. So maybe just over a length from 130-150mph. Then it stops. He holds station at my back wheel & it's pretty even after that all the way, none of us gaining on each other.

Afterwards we discussed it & figured out what that was all about. When I go into 5th at around 130, the 32 is hitting high revs in 4th. And cars with equal power, the one in the lower gear is always going to pull, all else being equal. So his high revs in 4th is superior to my low (out of powerband) revs in 5th. But as soon as he goes into 5th, I'm approaching 7000rpm in my 5th gear & so am getting back into the powerband.

But it was pretty awesome doing those runs & much respect to the 32.

thanks for the post....

can you do all of us a favor and changed your thread title to a

C32 chip/pulley vs (modded M3).

why you fail to mention your m3 was modded makes your thead misleading.

or you can just say c32 vs m3... that would work as well.

From what i understand.. running on high octane in the c32 actually does not improve performance. This is what i have read from previous C32 owners.

enjoy that M3!

Righton, throwing in higher octane fuel into a car which isn't tuned for it, won't do jack. The ECU can compensate to retard timing, but not advance it.

and the whole point of him to post in here again is to say he beat a C32 was that significantly more modded than his M3

nothing has changed

[QUOTE=M&M]OK so I know I a bad personQUOTE]

Although you grammar sux, I will give you credit for starting the post out with a rare truth.

BTW, WTF is a "basic bolt-on mod?" Does nitrous qualify? Also, given your penchant for removing seats when racing, shouldn't you be stating that you have some "basic bolt-off mods?"

What a bunch of whining cry-babies. I can't believe grown adults behave like this. I told my buddy with the C32 I was gonna' post here & he laughed when I told him about Impro man. In fact he's gonna' host the video after he gets it off the tape so expect a post in a few days.

Unbelievable that I just post what happened & get shot down for that. Anyway, to each his own losers.

My mods are ECU, de-catt exhaust & CAI. The C32 runs a race map with more timing & needs race fuel to run that map. In fact I don't think he can even run pump fuel with the map he's got.

Later cry-babies. Can't wait for Impro-man to say the video is rigged.
