Chick on S63 was looking for trouble....and she found it.

I took my mom this morning in the ML63 to a couple of dealerships to help her buy a new car.

We got to a four-way STOP sign and as I'm stopping at the white bar I see this gorgeous S63 blasting from the right, (I guess she had tried to get to her STOP sign before I did but couldnt).

I waited for her to stop and then I started to go but immediately she tried to go too!! I gave her a short and friendly bleep of the horn and she had to smash the brakes.

I kept driving and forgot about her for a couple of minutes until I heard the familiar sound of a 63 passing me like a train on my left....it was her!

I kept it at 45, you know, talking to my mom about what car she had liked the most yada yada...

Then I got to the light and she was stopped there.

My poor mom did not have a clew of what was going on....all this time, the girl in the S63 kept giving me hate looks. Light turns green and I saw those two beasts (car and chick) haul straight into what?.....another red light.

Here I come again creeping in on her right ....my mom talking....the 63 engine on my left revving....

What does a good son, law abiding, responsible citizen does in a circumstance like this?.......

EXACTLY! ....as soon the light turns green, it is now TWO 63'S hauling *** down the road. ..my mom's screams muffled by the glorious sound of TWO naturally aspirated beasts....HEAVEN FOR A FEW SECONDS.

To my surprise, the ML gained about a car lenght and stayed there for a while until my mom started banging me on the head....

I thought the S would kill me as my ML is really heavy....maybe Mrs Stirling Beotch didnt know what she was doing....in any case I ended up with a grin on my face.

My mom decided she wanted a GLK with the smallest engine possible; think the new diesel four will do.

Thanks mate!

I believe she didn't see my ////AMG badgery which is all black, matching the rest of the car so she was positive she could easily kill me.

With that being said, I was surprised how the ML pulled ahead of the S. Had I not been with my mom next to me, I would have gone for another run and see what could've had happened but....I just didn't want to get smacked on top of the head again.

Good one, its the 4 wheel traction that gave you the pace. Probably also the reason all new E63's will be coming out 4-matic.

ML63 2010 is one serious Beast.

I just did a small test on the GLK 250 Diesel. That car is fairly quick with a topspeed of more than 140 mph! Even acceleration was satisfying. We are talking about:
  • 0-62mph (0-100) in ~8s
  • 0-100mph (0-160km/h) in ~21s
  • 0-125mph (0-200km/h) in ~39s
which is fast enough for a daily driver, isn't it? We did all our driving with two guys @200lbs each.

And the best thing about that car: one can get a brilliant mileage. Even around town one can achieve more than 45mpg!!! Average were approximately 30mpg here in Germany, including high speed Autobahn driving.

I was thinking the same. Back when I had a C63, I found the main (if you can call it a...) problem was to keep those tires glued to the ground....even with full traction control. Dont get me wrong....that C63 was A BLAST to drive!

45mpg??!.... I don't even know how that feels....must be nice!

The 63's tend to steer to the right everytime I drive past a gas station :-p

Yes, it is really true: 45mpg are possible in the city. However, it takes some really smooth driving with soft acceleration, a lot of rolling, and as few braking as possible. 30mpg on the other hand are absolutely no problem at all, even in Germany where we have the Autobahn...

Don't get me wrong: It isn't a racecar. But with 200hp it is strong enough to travel very comfortably. Compared to the ML 250 it is way faster and feels from the drivers point of view a lot stronger and responsive. I like that small SUV.

MercsDude, your mom is a really sweet lady. If she smacked your head, well, you deserved it.

Only thing I worry about is my mom getting regular fuel instead of diesel out of habit as we've never had a diesel vehicle before. If she buys one, I will plaster a huge DIESEL ONLY sticker by the gas cap to prevent any errors.
