Difference between the 2003+ tail lights from my 2000 ML320s?

Difference between the 2003+ tail lights from my 2000 ML320s?
I can't see a difference from pictures and so can't see the advantage to updating the taillights to the new style since I already updated the headlights. Thanks in advance for any info.

Updated Tail lights look better at night
I got my headlights & tail lights updated to the 03 models because they're sleeker... as for the tail lights, at night, they have an auxiliary bulb, so the back looks like there is a "side" bulb... people say that it's plug & play, but i had to bring my ML55 to 2 bodyshops until I finally had someone wire the "side" auxiliary to the rest of the wires since the 03 tail lights have different harness and don't fit perfectly.. so, it's not plug-n-play.... hope i make sense.. I love my tail lights now.. they look so damn preeetty... crisp & clean
