door problem and comfort ride
hi
i have a 02 ml320 and my back right door is acting funny, when i hit the lock button it make a machine gun noise, trying to lock but it wont lock. I have to manually push the lock down. Is there anyway to fix that myself? The lock keeps jumping up and down but can't seem to stay down when i push the lock button.
Also i notice that my ml is giving me a more bumpy ride than usualy, i know this is a suv and not going to give me a comfortable smooth ride but is there anything that can help? mayb replace suspension or springs? if so let me know and with what, i would love to have a smoother ride in the ML
thanks

As far as your door lock the microswitch inside the latch assembly is defective. You need to have the latch assembly replaced...
Check your tire pressure. I have seena lot on MLs come in with wayyy to high of pressure. MBZ recommends 29psi

our '03 ML55 w/ 40k miles has a very rough ride, but partially because of the heavy 20" brabus wheels we have on it. When the car was new it felt more solid but now it vibrates and shakes over every bump in the road. We previously had an '01 ML320, and while it was smoother than the 55, it definitely didn't have a car-like smooth ride. The ML has a body-on-frame truck chassis which naturally produces more shakes and vibrations and doesn't isolate as much as a unit body chassis does.Adjusting tire pressures does help somewhat, but you won't notice anything drastic.
