About to get a 2001 ML320..have some questions
I'm getting a 2001 ML320 within sometime this week, but i have a few questions, if anyone could answer them, i'd appreciate it.
I see on these forums about this whole "Low Range" thing... if someone could explain it...
Does the 2001 model come w/ the navigation system or is it an option?
Is the factory stereo any good?
If theres anything else i should know plz tell me.

Low range is for off-road or rough conditions. Find the way to activate it under you center arm rest cover. Im sure some of the offroaders can better explain what it does.
The nav is an option and even if you have the screen doesnt mean you have nav
the factory bose stereo is id say above average but many find it necessary to upgrade certain components

The low range button, is for off roading (climbing power) or when you tow, you can use this low range to pull a heavy boat out of the water.
If i remember correctly, the fastest you can really go is about 35 in 4th gear. Typically when ever i would drive on the beach, i would put my old ML in low, to help relieve stress on the transmission/engine.

Well I just got the ML320 and man.... the bose stereo is HELLLAAAAAAAAAAAAA NICE......don't got no navigation system or telephone thing installed.
The Low Range light blinks a few times when i turn on the car so i think that might have to get checked (not like i'm gonna use it though) and sometimes the "BAS ESP" light comes on. The car has a faulty gas guage...sometimes it works, sometimes it dont... other than that i'm very impressed with its driving style and its a good car....compared to the 2000 Ford Expedition i had with that MACH audio....this one kills it.

To use it you must be in neutral and have your foot on the brake. After that just push the switch and it should go into low range and the low range light should come on in your inst. cluster. Its just a much lower gear than the normal drive.
I said the way to activate it is found under the center armrest. (put in neutral etc.) so calm down

Well I tried out the low range mode....damn I love it... off roading in residential neighborhoods ... well no more of it though. But this is a nice ride...the handling is just crazy, very smooth ride, and i love the stereo...still haven't found anymore flaws.

I don't know where you live, but low range is a life saver in the snow. My ML was having trouble moving when we had a blizzard here and there was 2-3 feet of snow, the low range pulled the truck out.

You would be amazed on what that vehicle can do off road. When they came out in 1998 i was able to go to the factory in Alabama and drive there off road course. I was shocked on what that vehicle was able to do!!
