Aftermarket DVD/cd player install???
Ok, I searched the forums before trying to do this install, from what I read, it should be easy enough.
BUT, I can't get sound out of the factory speakers/amp.
I bought the wiring harness adapter - easy.
I took out the old radio - easy.
I hooked up the new head unit - easy.
Now it pwers up, but no sound at all. I tried the RCA outs, and the unit's powered outs to no avail...
I also tried 2 different head units to make sure it wasn't that.
Help??
Please tell me I don't have to rip out the old wiring and re-wire the whole car...
1998 ml320 with the Bose single din system w/ CD changer.

did you hook up your remote turn on for the amp thats the first thing, and then the second is because it is a bose system you cant run high level(wiring up the speaker wires from one harness to the other. What you need to do (worked on a couple MLs I did) get a pair of RCAs. Any one set with 2 leads will be enough, cut them in half. Now wire up to the harness(car side) each RCA plug, using one wire for positive and the other for negative(doesnt matter which one is which but all 4 need to be wired the same way) Then plug those RCA leads in to the RCA outputs of your Radio and as long as the Amp is getting power voila... you have sound

its one of those two blue wires in your aftermarket wiring harnessconnect it to the blue wire coming off your aftermarket CDplayer's harness
