Question I Don't Want The Stock Radio Anymore, But....

I was told that if I bought a new touch screen mp3/cd/fm/dvd player for the truck that it was cost $400 for them to custom make me a kit because no one makes them...Does anyone know if this is true? $400? New kit? Plus the $1200+ new system that I want. Thanks

BMW FTW
What a bunch of BS. Especially with the 2000 MLs they are no harder than a chevy or ford. Find another installer.

Those new screens integrate with the car? Just Curious, got rid of 2000 ML for a 2007 GL PE. Great Vehicle.

dbl din to dbl din. No extra fabrication. You can get the Alpine w200 for 1000 installed, and the Pioneer D2 for about the same. Slides in slides out. Anything extra would be wiring harness, usually less than 50, dash trim kit (wraps around the radio, about as wide as a pencil) less than 50 bucks, ipod cable, 25 bucks, nav can be pricey, 1000+, black box (for watching video, while moving) 100.00. Basically the guy you were getting a quote from was ripping you off. Where are you located?

What's a good price for a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 installed? A installer told me that a special module is needed to connect it to the original Bose system, is that true?

No more than 2200 installed by an authorized dealer. The there is a module made by peripheral to keep the impedence correct so you don't blow up the head unit.

Idangeli, I think you own a custom shop because you know your ****(pricing wise), and a few times have tried to point people in certain directions... Is my hunch correct? You can PM me if you dont want people to know your business

Actually, no I used to, moons ago. Just the fact that I have spent 20-30K in the last 5 years on audio equipment at a close friend of mines store. He works with all types of product, but when you purchase as much as I have from him, you tend to favor certain brands over others. Reasons, cost, reliability and function. The guy I deal with is a straight NO BS kind of guy. Will sell you what you want, but offer you other options that may fit your needs better.
