Catalytic Convertor

Well.... finally took the ML to the Dealer to have my catalytic convertors replaced after they failed, 2nd time. I had my mechanic weld one in the past about 2yrs ago when it failed before the recall. The dealer had quoted $2600 to make the repair. i said no thanks. I had the recall letter for over six months but did not take the ML in till now. It was a quick job, and as allways they wanted replace the front brakes for a mere $600. lol I said no thank you. I ordered the rotors and pads from German Star for under $200. I will change them myself for the price of a six pack:rolleyes:

Yes take your recall/campain letter from MBUSA along with your receit for replacing your Cats. and MBUSA will refund you the cost of replacing your CATS.

I am not certain but I think that MB will only reimburse you for replacement of the Cats and not repairing them. I have been told that repairs to these are not authorized and can in fact negate the replacement warranty if the new failure is close to the repair.
