ML power steering fluid type??

I don't have the owners manual, but it appears my '02 ML500 does not take regular PS fluid. It looks like it takes mineral oil (Pentosin). Can someone confirm what type of fluid is needed? Thx
Regards,
Jerry

The owners manual calls for Mercedes PS Fluid, no other details or specs. A thread I've read on an other forum calls for q-1-46-001 fluid $10.82. You be the judge. Probably best to get it at the dealership. My 2 cents.

You could also check the cap of P/S reservoir cz I have BMW and they re using ATF oil only so gotta be carefull and dont even bother ask autozone cz they wont know and they ll give you P/S fluid only....
Ask dealer and call some of supplier from internet that way you could have better picture what to pour inn there....

Stick with the MB fluid, I have talked with a couple of the techs and it's a 100% synthetic fuild (can't find in the stores). They also told me that it has a tendency to evaporate so pick up a quart and check it once in a while.
