Sounds to me like the shop you took it to just threw parts at it. If the check engine light was on why didn't they run the diagnostics with the Star system?? That would give them an immediate answer to what is wrong. Perhaps they are not an authorized MB shop and do not have the Star system. you did not mention if they were or not. You will save money and have a more reliable vehicle in the future if you take it to a dealer for service. It will cost more for the service but its certainly the thing to do for the long haul.

Was this an MB dealer that diagnosed with the STAR system. If not go to one. An independent with a generic reader will get very broad, not precise information and still has to guess. With STAR in the hands of an experienced MB tech the fix will be very clear and easy to correct. I am willing to bet you went to an independent half assed shop. Stop trying to save a nickle and spend for a good diagnosis and repair

sounds like ur shop isn't highly trained to pinpoint the problem.
i'd go to other reputable shop, get it fixed and request refund at the other shop...

The ignition system on your vehicle may not be functioning well.It may have not produced enough amount of voltage, enough to arc cross the gap of your vehicle’s spark plug in order to create a spark that would ignite the air and fuel mixture needed for the internal combustion process to be done by you Mercedes distributor rotor. As the distributor rotor is spinning, the coil sends voltage into the arc across the rotor tip into the contact. It is one of the component to start you car, have it check and it may be the answer to your question.

There is no distributor and no rotor in any current or recent MB vehicles and for that matter most others as well. I suggest that before you give advice that you educate yourself so that false and inaccurate information is not given.

You did not say if the spark plugs were changed. At 90,000 miles I will consider it. May be a fuel issue?? I agree with Sosh take your car to a reputable mercedes dealer service center. You will save $$ and be less worried in the long run. Good Luck.
